Match report by Dave Capper
MAZARRON FC 4 CF MOLINA 1
Mazarron continued their excellent recent sequence of results with a 4-1 home victory over CF Molina to make it five wins and a draw from the last six games.
Palote and Jose combined well up front but Mazarron were restricted to long range efforts in the early stages. Then, a mistake by Enrique almost let in Molina after 19 minutes but the visiting striker shot wide. Shortly afterwards a backheader by Juan Andreo was intercepted by Molina but Juan Fran raced back to clear the danger for the home team.
More good work by Palote on the left saw Jose's cross cut out by the Molina defence but Mazarron took the lead after 30 minutes. A cleverly worked free kick found full back Mounir racing into space at the far post and he cleverly side stepped the keeper before slotting the ball home.
One of the Molina coaching staff was sent off by the referee who then awarded an indirect free kick to Mazarron eight yards from goal. With all the Molina players on the goal line the ball was tapped to Palote whose fierce strike was blocked by the wall of defenders.
Molina responded with a spell of pressure in the last few minutes of the first half without really troubling Antonio in the Mazarron goal.
The second half started without one of the linesmen who had presumably picked up an injury . Juan Fran and Juanito were booked for Mazarron in the space of two minutes before Mazarron went further ahead after 55 minutes.
A through ball found Palote racing down the right and, with the Molina defenders appealing in vain for offside, he ran on before cleverly turning inside and firing a shot past the keeper. Mazarron now had their best spell of the game with some excellent passing movements, one of which saw Mounir again charging forward and combining well with Palote to allow Champi to make it 3-0 for Mazarron. Juanito then had a left foot drive well saved by the keeper before the Molina defence was sliced open again by Mazarron's attacking play after 67 minutes. Jose's pass found Juanito on the left and his first time cross into the middle saw Palote beat his man before placing a shot into the net for his second goal of the game.
Molina pulled a goal back after 72 minutes when a right wing corner was turned in by Carlos at the far post. Lorca went close for Mazarron with a rasping drive from a free kick in the 77th minute and Molina's manager was sent off after 83 minutes following further heated exchanges with the match officials. Mazarron's victory takes them up to sixth position in the league.
