MAZARRON FC 4 AD ALQUERIAS 0
Mazarron made it two wins on the trot with an emphatic 4-0 home victory over AD Alquerias.
Juanito was the first to impress with a good run and shot just over the bar and both sides began in attacking fashion forcing corners at either end. Mazarron took the lead after 12 minutes when Hafid was brought down in the area after a run down the left wing and Juan Andreo converted the penalty kick with some ease.
Mazarron's confidence increased and some of their passing was a joy to watch. Juanito was causing problems linking up well with Juan Fran and Enrique but Alquerias were also giving Mazarron plenty to think about in the air with the presence of their tall striker .However, Mazarron scored a much needed second goal four minutes before the interval. Two shots on goal were blocked before the ball fell to the feet of Juanito who smashed it onto the net.
The final move of a very good half for Mazarron nearly produced a third goal when a right wing cross was met by Hafid who headed it onto a post and out for a goal kick.
Champi replaced Santi at the start of the second half and immediately made his mark with possibly his first touch of the game when a cross from the right wing allowed him to despatch a good shot into the net after 49 minutes to make the score 3-0.
By now the crowd were really getting behind the team with even the Spanish supporters behind the goal encouraging Mazarron by chanting in English!! Juanito was still causing problems and an away player was booked for holding as he lead another attack. With a three goal cushion, Mazarron now sat back for a little while and allowed Alquerias more time on the ball.
However, with time running out, a run on goal by Champi saw the Alquerias keeper handling the ball outside the penalty area and he was promptly sent off by the referee. With three minutes remaining Mazarron made it 4-0 when a pass by substitute Palote allowed Juanito to run on and fire past the substitute goalkeeper for his second goal of the game.
Team: Antonio; Juan Fran; Alfonso (Antonio); Juan Andreo; Alberto; Juanlu (Juanillo); Enrique; Santi (Champi); Hafid (Palote); Juanito; Jose.
Man of the Match: Juanito.
