NEXT GAME
CD ALGAR v MAZARRON FC
SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY 26th or SUNDAY 27th SEPTEMBER
So we are on the road next week but travelling in a different direction from the usual away games in the Murcia city area as we will be travelling towards the Mar Menor visiting CD Algar. Their ground is 61KM from Camposol and about 40 minutes by coach.
We have not faced CD Algar since the 2012/3 season where we were robbed of three points at home when a dive gave the visitors a late, late penalty and equaliser in Mazarron in the last minute of the game but when we visited their place Mazarron received a 6-0 drumming with old boy Alcaraz playing an important role for the opposition.
Since those days CD Algar gained promotion to the preferente, where they finished 9th last season, whilst we remained in the premera autonomica for another two seasons, but our paths now cross again following our promotion last season.
CD Algar play their home games at the modern(ish) Sanchez Luengo stadium which is situated outside of the village of Algar. For those independently travelling the map co ordinates are 37° 39' 14" N, 00° 52' 07" W. I hope our bus driver has a map or sat nav this weekend or else he will never find it.
The playing surface is artificial, there is seating down the side of the ground which has a canteen and decent toilets.
Their home strip is red and white stripes as per Sunderland so we will be in BLUE for this game.
Details of the away coach will be posted as soon as we get them.
MAZARRON FC come to this game following the 1-3 loss to Totana last weekend so they are still looking for their first win.
Meanwhile CD Algar appear to be playing the next opponents prior to Mazarron as in their first game they drew at home with Beniajan and then took a 4-0 thrashing off Totana so a comparison between the two sides appears easy as we drew 1-1 against Beniajan and then lost 1-3 against Totana. So on that form it could be a tight game.
Last weekend CD Algar took on S C Aguileño and despite their opposition being reduced to 10 men the game finished as a 0-0 draw.
CURRENT STATS
MAZARRON FC P 3 W 0 D 1 L 2 GF 2 GA 6 Points 1
CD ALGAR P 3 W 0 D 2 L 1 GF 1 GA 5 Points 2
