MATCH DETAILS
BENIAJAN CF v MAZARRON FC
kickoff 5pm SUNDAY 13th SEPTEMBER
Beniajan CF were away at CD Algar last weekend where they drew 1-1, in a game where 11 yellow cards were shown.
Last season it was honours equal between Mazarron FC and Beniajan CF. at their place we succumb to a 93rd minute goal whilst at home we thumped them 3-0
Beniajan play on a very old and bumpy artificial pitch with erratic bound and the dimensions of the pitch are very small.
The ground is tucked away in the centre of the town a has a decent bar and toilets. Last years entry included a voucher which you could redeem for a can of beer!
Their ground is 64 KM from Camposol a journey that should take 49 minutes, if the driver goes the right way.
Beniajan CF finished 3rd in our league last season with their season tailing off badly towards the end. In the uncertain playoffs they were knocked out by Esparragal but were later promoted as another place became available in the Preferente and they gained elevation, by rights, through their third place finish. Surprisingly Esparragal, who knocked them out of the playoff, didn't gain promotion after we beat them! Such is Spanish football.
Beniajan CF play in yellow shirts and black shorts so we should be in RED again for the game.
Details of the supporters coach will be published here when available.

BENIAJAN 1 MAZARRON FC 1
Quick summary of the game.
Bus driver didn't know where he was going!!!!! But we got there in the end.
FIRST HALF
Both teams very equally matched but Mazarron had a goal wrote off for off side but in my opinion it was good.
SECOND HALF
They score on the counter but from a blatant offside position.
Mazarron were fired up by the introduction of ROLLON who is a Billy Bremner type of defensive midfielder and really stamped his authority on the game.
Mazarron scored from a flowing right wing move, Jose scoring.
Two minutes from time he nearly repeated the action but just couldn't get to an excellent crossfield ball.
Jose was awarded the man of the match.
Mazarron introduced a new player called CHAMPI who played number 11.
a full report will be posted as soon as its wrote.

Sympathy for the bus driver. The one-way streets in the village defeated me the first time I went there!
I'll bring my sat nav.

Match report by Dave Capper.
BENIAJAN CF 1 MAZARRON FC 1
Mazarron gained their first point of the season with a hard fought 1-1 draw away to Beniajan.
Mazarron's much changed team showed signs that they are beginning to gel together and had the better of the first half against a Beniajan side who were promoted along with Mazarron last season. On 20 minutes a fierce free kick by Jose from 20 yards out was pushed aside by the home keeper. The ball fell to Alberto whose follow up shot was deflected into the net by Silverio but Mazarron were denied an opening goal by the linesman's offside flag.
Two minutes later Beniajan could have scored when a left wing corner was headed over the bar. After 32 minutes a superb through ball found Jose racing down the left wing and his cross found Juanito whose shot on the turn was blocked on the goal line. Three minutes later Santi went close with a free kick from the left which went just over the bar.
Rollon replaced Enrique at half time for Mazarron but Beniajan took the lead just two minutes into the second half. A long ball out of defence found Sergio in a suspiciously offside position but he was allowed to run on and place the ball past Antonio in the Mazarron goal.
The goal spurred Beniajan on and they came more into the game for the next 20 minutes without really troubling Antonio.
However Mazarron, inspired by young substitute Rollon, then began to get back into the game and deservedly equalised after 70 minutes with the best move of the game. Silverio raced down the right wing and his perfect cross found Jose who calmly steered the ball past the Beniajan keeper to the delight of the large contingent of travelling Mazarron supporters.
A minute later Jose, Juanito and substitute Cristian all had long range efforts blocked in the same move and five minutes from time Rollon's shot from 25 yards was just over the bar. Mazarron might have snatched all three points in the last few minutes but Jose just failed to reach Champi's cross from the right.
Overall it was an encouraging performance by Mazarron as they begin to adjust to life in the higher division.
Team: Antonio; Mounir; Juan Fran; Juan Andreo; Alberto (Juanma); Juanito; Juanlu (Champi); Enrique (Rollon); Santi (Cristian); Silverio; Jose
Man of the Match: Jose
