Well the regular season has come to a close and here are the final positions for the top 6 teams who are promoted or go into the playoffs for that last playoff place.
1st SFC MINERVA 94 points (promoted and undefeated for the whole season) 2nd LA HOYA LORCA CF 78 points (promoted) 3rd BENIAJAN CF 76 points (confirmed playoffs) 4th MAZARRON FC 62 points (confirmed playoffs with Tolo division top scorer by 10 clear goals) 5th CD JUVENIA 58 points (confirmed playoffs) 6th CD ESPARRAGAL 56 points (confirmed playoffs)
EVERTHING BELOW IS NOW CONFIRMED BY THE FEDERATION
One of tonight's result was C.D. JUVENIA 6 - 1 ESPINARDO ATLETICO-SPORTING DE MURCIA
This means that Juvenia will definitely finish in 5th place.
As we finished in 4th place it should be Juvenia who we face in the first round of the playoffs with the first leg away and the second at home, which is to our advantage.
In the two games we played against Juvenia this season we beat them 1-2 at their place with ten men after Chema was sent off.
The return leg at our place was a 1-1 draw with Chema again in the thick of it giving away a penalty with Mazarron leading with 4 minutes to go.
All playoff details will be published as soon as I get them.
Details of the play off games will be circulated on the Mazarron FC web site, the Los Amigos Facebook page and via group emails as soon as we have them from the Federation.
Please give Mazarron FC you maximum support in those playoff game and if you can encourage a friend or neighbour to attend the match and thereby boosting attendance it would make all the difference to the atmosphere and to our players.

I spoke to Jose today and he believes that the whole of the first team squad will be available for the Juvenia game as the yellow cards have been wiped clean by the federation for the playoffs.
He thinks entry to Juvenias ground will be €3
As the juvenile teams are playing at the same time as the senior side the only juvenile that is programmed to be used on Sunday for the first team is Andreo. Stalin would have been included but he has picked up a groin injury.
Javi, the new striker from Lorca, will play.
The cost of entry for everyone for the return fixture at our ground on the 31st May has been set at a reduced price of €3 including season ticket holders.
Prior to the game members of the supporters club, Los Amigos de Mazarron FC, will be provided with a free chicken and chips meal at La Sienna restaurant.

I was asked at the meeting today about what happens if it's all square at the end of the two games.
So I asked the fountain of all knowledge, Les, and also checked what the Federation has on it site sand this is what we reckon and this also fits in with other football competitions.
WE THINK
The winner is aggregate scores over two games.
If scores are equal, away goals count double.
If still equal, 30 mins (2 x 15) extra time.
If still equal....penalties.
WE THINK!
BUT
Further research by the fountain of all knowledge has found this on the federation website regarding the rules for the play-offs:-
Well then....now....I've just got a better translation and paragraph 3C says.............
In competitions by qualifying to double party shall apply the following provisions:
Will be declared winner the team that would have obtained better difference in goals scored, computing those conceded and those received in each of the two meetings. If the number in which the difference is realized is the same, will be the winner Club that had scored more goals in the field of the adversary.
Not realizing the circumstance that determine the application of the paragraph which precedes, held after the return match, and after a break of five minutes, an extension of thirty, in two parts of fifteen, without solution of continuity, with prior drawing for the choice of field, and well understood that shall apply rule relating to a possible tie to goals marked in the course of this extra time, elucidate in favor of the visiting team.
In the event of a tie after the extension dispute without goals, will not be resolved by the kicks from the penalty point, but that it will be declared winner of the elimination in question the team that at the end of the regular League would have obtained better place in the final ranking.
So it would seem that away goals count double, even in extra time. But there won't be penalties!

FINAL SCORE
PLAYOFFS SEMI FINAL FIRST LEG
CD JUVENIA 2 MAZARRON FC 2
Mazarron FC stormed into a 0-2 half time lead with Lider and Tolo (from the penalty spot) with Conejo saving a penalty. Mazarron missed at least two other opportunities to increase their lead.
Second half Juvenia came out on the front foot and scored from almost identical free kicks from the left with headed goals. Jan Lorca limped off with a thigh injury.
Enrique was sent off for dissent, silly boy, which made Mazarrons task harder. Juvenia also had a player sent off for dragging down Andreo as he bore down on goal.
Verdict: Mazarron dominated the first half whilst Juvenia controlled the second half after Mazarron were reduced to 10 men.
Roll on next Sunday.
Man of the match - Conejo

In the other semi final first leg game the final score was
C.D. ESPARRAGAL 3 - 1 BENIAJAN C.F.
This included a own goal scored by Beniajan.
So that's the team that finished 6th take a 2 goal advantage into the second leg against the side that finished 3rd in the regular season.
There were 9 booking in this game, 6 to Esparragal who have a terrible disciplinary record as we have found out to our cost in our two games against them, a bit like the old Dirty Leeds United side.
Beniajan CF have been very strong on their home, small dimensioned, ground which has an old plastic surface, which has an uneven bounce and is almost bald in places, so this tie isn't over yet.
Of the two sides, personally, I would prefer to be facing Beniajan if we reach the final two games.
Mini league so far:
1 - C.D. ESPARRAGAL P 1 W 1 D 0 L 0 GF 3 GA 1 Points 3 2 - C.D. JUVENIA P 1 W 0 D 1 L 0 GF 2 GA 2 Points 1 3 - MAZARRON F.C. P 1 W 0 D 1 L 0 GF 2 GA 2 Points 1 4 - BENIAJAN C.F. P 1 W 0 D0 L 1 GF 1 GA 3 Points 0
*Juvenia are above us due to alphabetical order, although we have the two 'away goals' in our back pocket.

This is how Dave Capper saw the game:
CD JUVENIA 2 MAZARRON FC 2
Mazarron FC go into their play-off Semi Final second leg level after a hard fought 2-2 draw at CD Juvenia.
Mazarron made the early running and Liders just failed to get on the end of Alfonso’s excellent cross from the right. Then Enrique fired wide before Mazarron took the lead on 15 minutes. Tolo controlled a through ball before finding Liders with an excellent pass and the midfielder struck a sweet left foot shot into the roof of the net from 20 yards.
Two minutes later another long ball found Tolo who raced past one defender before lobbing the ball over the oncoming Juvenia keeper but just over the bar. However, Mazarron increased their lead after 20 minutes when good work by young Santi on the right forced a Juvenia defender to handle the ball in the area. Tolo stepped up and calmly drove the spot kick into the net for his 35th goal of the season.
Conejo, who had been restored to the Mazarron goal, had to be alert on a number of occasions as Juvenia tried to get back into the game but, at the other end, it was Tolo again who raced through the middle for Mazarron only to see his shot blocked.
Conejo then made another good save before Juvenia were awarded a penalty for handball after 29 minutes. Conejo dived to his right to save the spot kick to continue Mazarron’s record of four successive penalty saves.
In the final action of the first half, Monty’s free kick was scrambled for a corner by the Juvenia keeper with Tolo challenging for the ball.
If Mazarron had the better of the first half, Juvenia came out after the interval determined to reverse things and Conejo had to make a fine save just three minutes into the second half. The home side pulled a goal back after 51 minutes after Enrique conceded a foul for which he received a yellow card. The free kick was floated in from the left and Rivera rose to head the ball past Conejo.
It was now all Juvenia and Conejo had to make two more excellent saves before Enrique was penalised again for what seemed an innocuous challenge in midfield. He received a second yellow card and Mazarron were reduced to ten men. To make matters worse, the resultant free kick again resulted in a goal to Juvenia this time after the ball had been deflected onto the bar only for Quijada to head home the rebound.
Mazarron were reduced to occasional breakaways with Tolo ploughing a lone furrow up front but he still managed to win two free kicks in the latter stages. The first saw Antonio Clares’s shot saved and the second which resulted in Juvenia being reduced to ten men when Juan Francisco received a second booking.
Mazarron would have taken a draw before the game but, having had a two goal lead, their supporters may be disappointed that they surrendered the advantage. However, there is still everything to play for in the second leg which takes place at the Estadio Municipal Mazarron next Sunday, 31st May, kick off 19.00
Team: Conejo; Alfonso, Juan Andreo; Dani; Lorca (Antonio Clares); Monty; Enrique; Andreo; Liders (Diego); Santi (Manu); Tolo
Man of the Match; Conejo.

AND THIS IS HOW JUVENIA SAW THE GAME
lifted from their Facebook site.
Great comeback in the second half of our kids... they have been very plugged and struggling to show what they are worth. (They realise that they were under the cosh in the first half)
There is always a black sheep and this time has no doubt been the referee, has had too many errors for thinking that it is a dismissal (I presume this refers to their sending off) but we are accustomed to that being us cn this low level of professionalism. (I think they are saying that they are use to crap referees, no comment!)
The coming week we have a very important game in the field of the Mazarrón cf, hope that many hobby moves and everyone can lead our team to preferred, which is where they deserve to be.

UP DATE FROM MAZARRON FC CLUB PRESIDENT
"The team are training well with no problems. Enrique will be missing (2 yellow cards) Lorca and Manu are receiving medical treatment for injuries but should be available.
Mateo is back in training (good we missed him at the back last weekend)
The football club have gone overboard with publicity and expect a large crowd.
On Sunday morning our Alevins side have a great chance of winning their league and I ask for supports from the British community to go down to the plastic pitches and cheer them on. I will provide you with the timings as soon as I get them"
He has a good feeling about next weekend.
