NEXT GAME
THADER MURCIA CF v MAZARRON FC
6.30pm (18.30) Saturday 25th April 2015
Thader have played their games at home on both Saturday and Sunday so we will have to wait to see which they choose for next weekend.
Well we are getting to the final few games of the season and it can't be more interesting. 6 teams are still in with a good shout of taking the final three playoff places with the top two of Minerva and La Hoya seemingly having tied up the two automatic promotion places and Beniajan in a solid third place but after those three the field is wide open for the remaining 3 slots.
With 4 games to go we are on our travels to Thader Murcia CF who we know quiet well having played against them a lot in recent seasons. Last year they were in our league finishing 16th.
LAST TIME WE MET and it wasn't good news for Mazarron FC
MAZARRON FC 1 THADER ALCANTARILLA 3 (6.12.2014)
Mazarron lost further ground in the race for promotion with a home performance against a team which had lost 3-1 at home the previous week to the team at the bottom of the league. But two of the away teams goals were more by luck than skill, unfortunately for Mazarron.
Thader were always in control of a game in which Mazarron FC once again relied on the long ball to Tolo, but considering the state of our pitch there are currently few options until it is resurfaced.
Thader started strongly but it was Mazarron who took the lead after nine minutes. Manu’s left wing cross was met spectacularly on the volley by Tolo whose shot screamed into the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season.
Liders and Enrique both had shots off target for Mazarron before Conejo had to dive to his right to save well following a Thader attack in the 25th minute. Then Liders went close for Mazarron when he latched onto a pass from Tolo but his shot was diverted for a corner.
Thader equalised after 35 minutes when a right wing cross was hammered home at the near post giving Conejo no chance.
Thader started the second half well and took the lead after 62 minutes with a soft goal. A right wing corner was headed goalwards but Alfonso and Conejo got in each other’s way and the ball trickled over the line.
Two minutes later, Tolo burst through the Thader defence but his fierce shot rebounded off the post.
Thader went further ahead in the 68th minute when a cross field ball was driven goalwards but deflected into his own net by Lorca.
Mazarron were unable to put together any meaningful attacks until a free kick from Alfonso was volleyed just wide by Cristian in injury time.
RECENT RESULTS
Thader first. Last weekend Thader were on their travels to near to bottom club Sucina who had beat them earlier in the season, one of their few victories and this time Sucina only went and did it again.
Sucina came out 1-0 winner even though they went down to 10 men, certainly a turn up for the books.
Meanwhile Mazarron FC were at home to Espinardo in a crunch game at the top end of the table. The outcome of this game was a complete demolition derby by Mazarron FC who won 7-0 with 4 goals from Alfonso, 2 from Manu and the ever reliable Tolo score the other. Every man jack played their part in this remarkable game.
CURRENT LEAGUE TABLE POSITIONS
5th MAZARRON FC P 30 W 15 D 5 L 10 GF 58 GA 40 Points 50
11th THADER MURCIA CF P 30 W 10 D 7 L 13 GF 47 GA 40 Points 37
THADER DANGER MEN
Thader Murcia CF only seem to have two outlets when it comes to the goal scoring front. Firstly they have IGNACIO LOPEZ SANCHEZ with 11 goals but then you have to go a long way down the list to find ALFONSO CANTERO HERNANDEZ on 8 goals. Their next highest scorer has just 3, so in theory stop Ignacio and Alfonso and you have stopped Thader. I hope Javi, the Mazarron manager, reads this.
AWAY DAY ADMIN
Thader Murcia CF play in the "ANGEL SORNICHERO" stadium in Alcantarilla and for those of you who are travelling independently the co ordinates of the ground are 37° 58' 28" N, 01° 13' 35" W
It is just 46 KM or 31 minutes away from Camposol and details of the supporters away coach will be published here on the forum and on the Los Amigos Facebook site when available.
Their stadium is something that we in Mazarron can only dream of and is similar to what was promised to us by our local politicians before we were sadly let down.
The stadium has seating along one side of the pitch which is a 3G artificial surface variety. There are canteen facilities, excellent toilets and plentiful parking, it is an around 21st century facility. The only criticism that I have is that it has a running track around the pitch which means supporters are somewhat distant from the action.
Thader Murcia CF place their home games in RED shirts and BLUE shorts so we will be in our alternative strip of BLUE shirts, so please wear blue for this game.
