NEXT GAME
BLANCA TELE CANAL 2 v MAZARRON FC
Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th April 2015
Blanca have played their home games on both Saturday's and Sunday's so there will be a bit of wait to find out exactly when this match will take place.
Following Mazarron FC putting their local rivals to the sword in our last game we are off on our travels again and this time to Blanca TC2 and I'm looking forward to this game not having been to their home ground before.
Blanca TC2 play on an artificial surface, which in my opinion suits our lads as opposed to our home ground which is currently abysmal. The stadium is situated in the village prior to reaching Abaran and is near to Cieza. It has seating down one side, lots of parking and a canteena inside the ground. For those independently traveling the co ordinates are 38° 10' 43" N, 01° 22' 05" W
The distance to the ground is 84KM or 54 minutes from Camposol. Details of the away supporters coach will be published on the forum and Los amigos Facebook site nearer the date of the match.
Blanca TC2 play in yellow shirts and black shorts at home so therefore Mazarron FC will be in RED for this game.
Blanca TC2 spent last season in the Segunda Autonomica before being promoted at the end of the season, but let's have a look at that promotion. At the end of the 2013/14 season they finished 14th, yep 14th. They won just 12 games of the 38 games played and accumulating only 44 points. This is another case of a team promoted above their abilities, not because of their footballing prowess but because of the dire financial situation of Spanish football. Thankfully Mazarron FC is run by a stable and honest president with tremendous support by local and ex pat supporters.
LAST TIME WE MET (22.11.14)
Mazarron continued their push for promotion with an emphatic 4-1 home victory over Blanca Telecanal.
Despite being without three players through suspension and another three through injury, Mazarron FC dominated the game.
Mazarron took the lead after 12 minutes when Tolo found space on the right. After beating two men his shot rebounded off the post to Diego who tapped the ball home from two yards.
Mazarron continued to press forward and Tolo was causing all sorts of problems for the visitors’ defence. Blanca managed to reach the break only one goal down but you just knew that there were more to come.
Cristian joined the action for Mazarron and was immediately in the action when he hit a fierce shot goalwards from 25 yards before it was diverted for a corner. From that corner Dani forced the ball over the line to make it 2-0.
It was all Mazarron at this stage with Tolo, Diego and Alfonso running riot.
Blanca were awarded a penalty but Conejo dived to his right to make an excellent save from the spot kick. Mazarron made them pay for this miss with the best goal of the game after 67 minutes. Andreo’s diagonal ball found Cristian racing towards the corner on the right. Cristian turned and hit a superb looping shot over the keeper’s head and into the top of the net to make it 3-0.
Blanca reduced the arrears after 77 minutes when Carlos Fernandez was allowed to run through and place his shot past Conejo into the corner of the net.
Mazarron replied almost immediately when substitute Stalin’s excellent cross saw Tolo hit a first time shot into the roof of the net to make the final score 4-1.
CURRENT FORM
Blanca had a fine 0-3 away win before Easter, but it was against bottom side Sucina, so not really a true guide to how they are performing at the moment. But you can only beat what's put before you I suppose.
Mazarron FC in the meantime beat local rivals S Mazarron C in front of large home crowd to send everyone home happy for the Easter break.
CURRENT STATS
6th MAZARRON FC P 28 W 13 D 5 L 10 GF 49 GA 39 Points 44
13th BLANCA TC2 P 28 W 8 D 5 L 15 GF 33 GA 59 Points 29
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Blanca struggle for goals having scored just 33 all season and this is reflected in their top scorer, DARIO MOLINA AYALA, having just 8 goals to his name and their next "hot shot" is CARLOS FERNANDEZ VILLALBA with 5.
SUSPENSIONS/SANCTION
Looking at the last games these two sides played and bookings dished out during those matches I think that suspensions or sanctions will not play a big part in calling this result as I can see both sides should be at full strength barring injuries and/or work commitments.
