NEXT HOME GAME
6.30pm (18.30) Sunday 29th March 2015
REMEMBER THAT THE CLOCKS SPRING FORWARD ONE HOUR ON THE DAY OF THIS GAME.
FREE ENTRY TO ALL
After a run of four games against the top teams in the league Mazarron FC get a chance of rebuilding its points total and confidence as the side look to play teams who sit below them, and what a way to start those game with a local derby game against a side who are sinking faster than the Titanic, S Mazarron C.
S Mazarron C were promoted from the Segunda Autonomica last season although they finished in 13th place!!! This was due to so many teams folding due to the poor financial situation in the lower Spanish leagues and it's obvious that it was a promotion to far for our opponents.
Perhaps their best result of the season was when they were defeated by La Hoya Lorca "B" but they were awarded the points on a technicality, La Hoya had missed a deadline to sign a player but still played him and an eagle eyed slug, upps I mean eagle, spotted this, they snitched and were awarded the points!
After losing their original coach around Christmas our opponents have been looked after by our old manager Agustine and it seems with the same outcome as when he managed Mazarron FC. From reports it seems that S Mazarron C find it hard to field a side and a substitution bench and their recent results reflect this so it could be a fine time for Mazarron FC to put the sword and to gain vital point for a push towards a play off position.
LAST TIME WE MET
Sporting Camposol 0 Mazarron FC 1 (16.11.2014)
Mazarron came out on top in the first ever derby between the two local teams with the games first attack coming in the 5th minute when Alfonso shot wide.
Mazarron began to take control and had three or four good chances, most falling to leading scorer Tolo. However, two minutes before half time Cecilio opened his account for the season when he headed Mazarron into the lead.
In the second half Tolo was soon into action again and in the 60th minute saw a long range shot go narrowly over the bar.
After a bit of play acting by Sporting Mazarron’s Manu was shown a straight red card and the game started to get a little out of hand with a number of bookings and the teams were evened up in the 83rd minute when former Mazarron striker Boudia was sent off for Sporting Camposol.
The final whistle came with Mazarron taking the three points and moving back into a play off position. A comfortable win for the boys in red.
RECENT FORM
It's a bit hard to compare the two sides recent performances as the opposition for both sides has been totally different. Whilst Mazarron FC have taken on the top four side in the league in the last four games S Mazarron C have been playing teams around them in the basement of the Primera Autonomica, sides that are looking relegation full in the face.
For example Mazarron FC were away at 2nd placed LA Hoya Lorca "B" last weekend when they were well beaten by perhaps the best team Mazarron FC have faced this season.
Whilst S Mazarron C were at home to bottom side Sucina with that game finishing up as a lucky 3-2 win for the home side.
CURRENT STATS
6th MAZARRON FC P 27 W 12 D 5 L 10 GF 47 GA 38 Points 41
