NEXT AWAY GAME
La Hoya Lorca 'B' v Mazarron FC
Scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd March 2015 (More details as I get them)
Following the postponement of football by the FFRM (Murcian football federation) for the weekend of 7th/8th March 2015 of all football matches from the Tercera division and below including all junior sides, matches were suspended. For your football calendars just move all the fixtures on a week.
The dispute with the government was over cash, what else? So the season has now been amended by adding a week to the end of the season.
For next weekends game Mazarron FC are off on their travels and this time it's to another high flying team, La Hoya Lorca 'B' side. So that makes it three top teams in four weeks on the bounce for Mazarron FC.
Roll on the following game when we play lowly S Mazarron C at home, a game where entry will be FREE. Remember when we last met S Mazarron C they charged Mazarron FC supporters €5 to get into our own ground. By allowing FREE entry Jose will be showing that this game is about football and not greed and money.
RECENT FORM
In the past couple of weeks, and whilst the performances have been generally good, the points have not flowed into Mazarrons coffers, but you can't fault the lads for effort in those games.
Meanwhile LA Hoya have been playing teams from the bottom of the league and have been "filling their boots" both with goals and points. For example last weekend they were away at Sucina where they won 1-4 but Sucina played a lot of the game with just 9 men having two sent off.
CURRENTLY STATS
3rd LA HOYA LORCA 'B' P 26 W 20 D 2 L 4 GF 72 GA 24 Points 62
6th MAZARRON FC P 26 W 12 D 5 L 9 GF 46 GA 33 Points 41
GROUND INFORMATION
LA Hoya play their home games at home the "LOS TOLLOS" stadium which is 30 KM or 23 minutes away from Camposol. The ground is situated before you get to Lorca on the A7 and is on the far side of LA Hoya village near to the railway station. For those independently travelling the co ordinates for the ground are 37° 42' 00" N, 01° 35' 36" W just put this into Google/Apple maps to see you the exact location.
I have never personally been to this ground but from computer images it appears to have an artificial surface, seating, a canteen and plenty of parking space.
Details of the Los Amigos away supporters coach will be posted on their Facebook site and the forum for when available.
LAST TIME WE MET IN NOVEMBER 2014
MAZARRON FC 1 LA HOYA LORCA CF ‘B’ 1
What a difference from the previous weeks defeat to Esparragal as we saw a marked improvement in Mazarrons performance.
Within the first 5 minutes Mazarron had a number of good attacks with a great deal of passing on the ground and no long balls out of the defence, and that was the foundation of the plan that Mazarron worked on on the day of the match.
It was not until the 10th minute that La Hoya Lorca had their first meaningful attack which resulted in a corner, but came to nothing and their first shot on goal did not come until the 14th minute and that ended up way over the bar.
It became clear from the various free kicks and corners that some effort has been made on the Mazarron training ground ensured the ball when delivered was done so with accuracy.
Mazarron mounted a number of attacks with Tolo featuring prominently, with one spectacular attempt of an overhead kick by him ending a 4-man move – but it went wide.
On the next Mazarron attack Tolo carrying the ball into the La Hoya Lorca penalty area, turned sharply only to be brought down by a La Hoya Lorca defender, penalty. Up stepped Tolo to take the spot kick and Mazarron took the lead.
1-0
The second half continued much the way that the first half had ended, with Mazarron having the majority of the attacking play, interspersed with the occasional La Hoya Lorca attack.
However, despite the majority of the play coming from Mazarron the next La Hoya Lorca attack in the 56th minute resulted in a goal. La Hoya Lorca attacked down the right wing and a cross was well met by a La Hoya Lorca striker with his head which went straight into the Mazarron net.
1-1
However, Mazarron were not too down hearted by this set back as they continued to seek the all-important goal to give them the three points. It also seemed that La Hoya Lorca were only too happy to hold onto the 1 point gained.
In the 69th minute the La Hoya Lorca number 11 being shown a yellow card, his second of the game so off he trooped.
For the the next 15 minutes Mazarron mounted attack after attack against the 10 men of La Hoya but their goal led a charmed life.
In the 87th minute Mazarron were awarded a free kick on the edge of the La Hoya Lorca penalty area, after a defender was given a yellow card for a foul on a Chema but as the defender was the last man surely it should have been red? Mazarron were not able to make anything of the free kick and the referee blew for the end of the match a few minutes later but, amazingly, not before sending the Mazarron substitute Isreal to the dressing room early for something he must have said to the nearside linesman.
Full Time: 1-1
TEAM COLOURS
LA Hoya play in blue and white stripes, 'a la' Sheffield Wednesday, when at home so Mazarron FC should be in RED.
PLAYERS TO WATCH.
La Hoya have the league third highest scorer, CESAR GONZALEZ ALCARAZ with 18 goals, BASILIO JORDAN MECA with 11 and MIGUEL ANGEL ORTUÑO GARCIA with 8 goals. They also have other goal scorers in the team so Mazarrons defence will need to be on their toes next time out.
SUSPENIONS/SANCTIONS
Mazarron FC will again be without Conejo and Juan Lorca who will be serving the second of their two match bans, details of other sanctions will be published on the forum nearer the day of the game.
