For our second away game on the trot Mazarron FC travel to the far reaches of Murcia to play Yeclano Deportivo 'B'.
The game is scheduled to be played on either Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th January 2015 but the exact details of the game will be posted here when we get them. Last Sunday Yeclano were at home and kicked off at 12 noon on the Sunday, wether that is the 'norm' we'll see.
This trip will take some one and a half hours each way as we make our way through the beautiful countryside of Murcia to Yecla.
Yeclano Deportivo 'B' play their home games at the Las Pozas sports complex on the outskirts of Yecla and for those of you who are traveling independently the co ordinates are 38° 36' 10" N, 01° 07' 03" W. The stadium is part of a modern sports complex with excellent toilet and canteen facilities, there is seating down one side of the ground and the surface is an excellent artificial one.
Yeclano Deportivo 'B' play in a strip similar, if not identical, to FC Barcelona ie red and blue stripes, so in a complete departure from our normal practice Mazarron FC will be wearing an all BLACK strip for this game.
This game represents the first game in the second half of the season with Mazarron FC having played and thrashed Yeclano Deportivo 'B' 4-0 in September.
On that occasion Tolo scored a hat trick and Chema, who is currently absent from the side due to studying in Murcia, adding a fourth.
This result was a complete shock to me as the previous year Yeclano Deportivo 'B' had swept all before them and had gone most of the season undefeated but they are obviously not of the same caliber as before. Yeclano deportivo 'B' are the second team to Yeclano deportivo who play in the Trecera division, maybe they have raided their second team for players?
Currently Yeclano Deportivo 'B' are in the basement of our league in a dog fight trying to avoid relegation. On Sunday it was Yeclano Deportivo 'B' v bottom side Sucina in a 6 pointer in Yecla with the final score being honours equal at 0-0
Having only scored 12 goals all season it is not surprising that Yeclano' top scorers are RAFAEL BORJA DIAZ MARCO and EDUARDO GIL GARCIA with just 2 goals each.
Following our 'Battle of Lumbreras' last Saturday Mazarron FC still await the final verdict of the federation but I will show the current stats below as if the result of 1-2 to Mazarron FC stands, I'll amend it in the unlikely event that the federation deems different.
CURRENT STATS
6 MAZARRON FC P 17 W 8 D 4 L 5 GF 27 GA 20 Points 28
17 YECLANO DEPORTIVA P 17 W 2 D 4 L 11 GF 12 GA 33 Points 10
SANCTION/SUSPENSIONS
Now this could be interesting following last weekends game. I should find out by Thursday night so watch this space.
We will, of course, be missing new boy Antonio who will be serving the second of his four match ban but besides him we'll have to wait and see.
A GAME NOT TO MISS
The long trip up to Yecla must be one of the highlights of our football season and a chance for you to see yet more of our beautiful Murcian countryside. Details of the Los Amigos supporters away coach will be published here as soon as I get them but I hope that you will be able to join us again on our travels supporting the best little football club in Spain.
