Our next fixture and the first of the new year is against an old rival in the shape of CD Lumbreras.
I have nothing but pleasant thoughts about this fixture, nice ground, nice surroundings, and usually a nice result.
The last time we played against Lumbreras at their place it was a 0-5 win for Mazarron FC with Juanillio and Jose Rubén running the home side ragged.
CD Lumbreras play in a modern sports complex but due to the financial crisis the stadium isn't in the fine condition that it use to be. The surface is artificial and has always played 'true' in the past with no irregular bounce. There is seating down one side of the pitch situated high in a concrete stand with plastic seats. The canteen and toilet facilities at the ground are excellent.
Lumbreras is situated quite high in the hills so make sure that you wrap up well for the game and take a hot drink.
In their last fixture of 2014 CD Lumbreras were away at bottom side Sucina and came away with a 0-1 win curtesy of a goal by Hernandez who also received a booking for his troubles.
CD Lumbreras top scorer is Jose Fernandez with 4 goals with a couple of players on 3 and the rest of their goals spread throughout the rest of the side.
CD Lumbreras play in RED shirts so Mazarron FC will be in blue.
CURRENT STATS
6th MAZARRON FC P 16 W 7 D 4 L 5 GF 25 GA 20 Points 25 12th CD LUMBRERAS P 16 W 5 D 3 L 8 GF 18 GA 20 Points 18
The distance to the ground from Camposol is 63 kilometres should only take about 40 minutes as it's motorway all the way.
Details of the supporters away coach will be posted here and on the Los Amigos Facebook site when we have firmed up the arrangements.
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarron FC will of course be missing new defender Antonio who was sent off in the fine victory over Los Alcazares during the last game of 2014 where Mazarron FC came back from 0-2 down with 10 men to go on to win 3-2, a result that saw Mazarron finish 2014 in a playoff position.
We should welcome back Manu, who was at the Los Alcazares game cheering his fellow team members on, and Juan Lorca, who was serving a one match ban for accumulation of yellow cards. Both of these fine players will be welcomed back to the fold.
Details of other suspensions or sanctions will be posted here when they become available.

WHAT A WAY TO START A NEW YEAR
CD LUMBRERAS 1 MAZARRON FC 2
BUT!!!!!!!
Just a brief summary of the game.
0-0 at half time with Mazarron in control of the game.
Second half Mazarron take the lead through a delightful Tolo free kick which bounced in front of the keeper and the ball skidded under his body
Lumbreras equalised from a corner into a throng of players which left Conejo on the floor injured with Lumbreras taking advantage and scoring into the empty net, this was the only chance 'on target' the home side mustered all afternoon.
Mazarron retook the lead from a Monti free kick after discussing the ploy to be used with Manu, Monti dropped the ball straight to him as he ghosted into the box and he forced the ball over the line.
Then the fun happened.
On 88 minutes Tolo took the ball to the Lumbreras corner flag with three defenders in attendance, his intentions were clear, to count down the clock. This resulted in frustration on the behalf of the defenders one of them can I only describe 'assaulted' Tolo with an elbow into the Mazarron strikers face and as he laid on the ground his assailant then kick the ball at full belt into the body of the prostrated Tolo. For this act of GBH he only received a yellow card. Then it kicked off. I would say that every player from both sides got involved in what could only be called a free for all with punches and kicks being struck by both sides. Then supporters got involved with one Spanish Mazarron supporter taking a right kicking from three Lumbreras players.
Order was only re established when the Mazarron president intervened and sent our boys to their dress room. The police arrived and we left.
Jose informs us that Tolo, who finished the game flat on his back nursing his injuries but as the Man of the match, is OK and that as far as Jose knows the game finished as a win for Mazarron.
And where was the ref whist all this was happening? Along with his two linesmen he ran down the tunnel. If he had given a red card to the thug who had assaulted Tolo in the first place maybe, just maybe, this could have all been avoided.
We now await the verdict from the federation, but going on past history it should be 3 points to Mazarron with suitable punishment for those offenders.

Manu, a straight red for violence.
Plus Lumbreras will have their ground closed if there is a repetition.
One Lumbreras player gets a four game suspension, for fighting.

WELL DONE DAVE PERKS
Photos taken by Dave were used in evidence by Jose at the federation, in our defence, last week resulting in Mazarron having a minimum fine imposed whilst Lumbreras was hit with a €500 fine and a stadium closure warning order.
€500 at our level is a harsh penalty and rightly so.
