NEXT GAME
CD JUVENIA v MAZARRON FC
Scheduled for Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th October 2014 CD Juvenia gave Mazarron FC a bit of a problem last season when they came back from a 0-2 scoreline at half time to eventualy win the game 4-2 at home in Pozo Estrecho where they play their games. Mazarron FC scorers were Pescao and Tico. The return fixture saw Mazarron FC gain a 2-1 victory with a brace of goals from Tolo, sweet revenge. We have already played CD Juvenia this season as a part of the pre season build up and again it was the same outcome of a 2-1 win for Mazarron FC after coming back from a one goal deficit. Goals that day were scored by the now departed Cristian and of course Tolo. At this early stage to the season Juvenia are having a an average time of it sitting in a mid table position, scoring freely but also conceding a lot of goals. CD Juvenia play in a BLUE strip so we will be in RED for this game. Their leading scorers are BASILIO JORDAN MECA and MAXIMINO GOMEZ MARTINEZ with 3 goals apiece, I know that Maximino was a player that we were interested in last season, a very effective striker. They won 1-2 away in Sucina last weekend. CURRENT STATS: 5th MAZARRON FC P 6 W 3 D 2 L 1 GF 12 GA 6 Points 11 6th CD JUVENIA P 6 W 2 D 3 L 1 GF 12 GA 10 Points 9 Details of the away coach will be posted here as soon as we get them. It is a simple route to Pozo Estrecho. Leave Camposol and join the RM 3 dual carriageway traveling North, take the road, RM 23, passed Polaris world until you reach the large traffic island at the end. Take the first turning to join the RM2 dual carriageway travelling away from Alhama. Stay on this road until you join the A30 Cartagena - Murcia motorway. Travel south on the A30 towards Cartagena. Follow the MU311 into the village some 3 KM away and in the centre of Pozo Estrecho follow the signs to the campo de futbol which it is situated behind a school complex.

Thanks to Tony Jarvis once again for this match report:-
CD JUVENIA 1 MAZARRON 2 As is the norm with matches that feature Mazarron these days they came back from going a goal down to win the match 2-1.
Mazarron kicked off (with Tolo acting as Captain) and within 2 minutes Diego had missed a good opportunity to score, shooting well wide in the end. Both sides spent the first 10 minutes trying to get into positions where they could attempt a shot on goal, but both sides were guilty of wayward shooting with only a couple of tame efforts well gathered by the respective goalkeepers. There was an early scare on the edge of the Mazarron penalty area when Conjeo fumbled the ball in a Juvenia attack, but between them the defence managed to clear the ball.
It also became apparent throughout the first half that Mazarron free kicks from anywhere within the opposition half were directed into the penalty area; the problem being that often the kicks were taken by Tolo, who being the tallest forward would have been utilised in the area to receive said free kick. When they were taken by other Mazarron players they either didn’t clear the first line of the opposition defence, or as happened on a few occasions the ball sailed over everyone and it went out of play.
Mid-way through the first half there was a flurry of yellow cards for both Juvenia and Mazarron; the significant one as far as Mazarron was concerned came in the 32 minute when Lorca was booked for a foul on the edge of the Mazarron penalty area. Just after this booking a Mazarron attack through Tolo almost produced a one -on-one situation but Tolo pushed the ball just that little bit too far, and the Juvenia goalkeeper was able to gather it safely.
The one good bit of team work from Mazarron came in the 38th minute when a break down the right wing utilising 3 different Mazarron players found Tolo in a good position, but just that little bit too much of an angle to get a good shot away, and the ball ended up in the side netting – when a few of the visiting supporters thought it had gone in.
In the run-up to half-time a good run by Andreo (wearing number 12) was halted by a good tackle from the Juvenia defence; and a mix-up between Lorca and Conjeo led to a corner to Juvenia, but thankfully it came to nought.
HALF-TIME 0-0
Following last week’s revival after the half-time break the Mazarron supporters were optimistic about a better second half – they were to be sorely disappointed.
Apart from an early goalmouth scramble in the Mazarron penalty area where both Conjeo and defenders blocked the ball on the line, the second half went very much as the first had done. Both sides were woefully short of ideas as to how to break down the opposition defence, and when they did get near the opposing penalty area any shots were usually well wide.
In the 52nd minute after the third foul on Tolo just outside the right hand side of the Juvenia penalty area the resultant free kick came across was headed out, but came straight back in for Diego to miss what was the best chance of the match to score – but instead managed to balloon the ball over the bar.
Mazarron at this point were starting to look the more dangerous with a couple of extra shots on goal, but unfortunately all going wide. In the 60th minute Tolo was set free once more by a long ball but his shot was blocked by a Juvenia defender with the use of his hand, although the referee (and one visiting supporter) decided it wasn’t handball, and only gave a corner, which as ever was not made good use of by Mazarron.
However, in the 65th minute after a Juvenia attack was halted by a foul some 27 yards out, the resultant free kick went straight into the Mazarron goal. The ball bypassed the Mazarron wall and Conjeo didn’t even move before the ball was nestled in the back of the Mazarron net.
1-0
Just after the restart Mazarron made a substitution with Chema coming on for Lidder. Quite clearly Chema was fired up and within 2 minutes had earned a booking for an over enthusiastic challenge on the Juvenia winger.
On the next Mazarron attack where a long ball from defence found Chema on the right wing and he scampered off between the touchline and the edge of the Juvenia penalty area. There was a coming together of a defender and Chema and he decided that a free kick or even a penalty kick might come Mazarron’s way if he went to ground – he duly did!
The referee was having none of it, and neither was the linesman who was within a couple of metres of the incident. Chema remonstrated with the linesman in a somewhat forthright manner, probably directing his attention towards the latest Specsavers offers. The linesman duly brought the referee’s attention to said incident, and Chema was booked for the second time in as many minutes – and followed the all too familiar route for an early bath.
If that wasn’t bad enough a further 4 minutes had elapsed before Lorca defending another Juvenia attack committed a foul on the left winger and was booked for a second time for his pains – he too found himself on his way to an early bath, only this time he tried to go to the visitors dug-out. He was pointed the correct way by the linesman, and off he trudged.
Now, what is about Mazarron that they have to go goals behind and lose players through sending-offs before they start to play with some skill and purpose – answers on a postcard, preferably to Javi. All of a sudden they started to find each other when attacking, and from about the 80th minute it was all Mazarron even when though they were down to 9 men. Two successive Mazarron free kicks in the 80th and 81st minutes were cleared after some desperate defending; however in the 85th minute came the goal that Mazarron’s determination and spirit deserved. Another free kick was placed into the Juvenia penalty area and after a little pin-ball Diego was there to thump it home.
1-1
The young juvenile Andreo then had a further good shot at goal, and was well saved by the Juvenia goal minder. Then in the 89th minute came the best cross of the match from Mateo who ran down the right wing bye-line and crossed a beautiful ball into the Juvenia area to find Diego on the end – and he didn’t miss!
1-2
There was some controversy about this goal because Mateo had received the ball when he may have been offside, however it was the turn of the Juvenia defenders to question the ability of the linesman to see what was in front of him.
Five minutes of added time was indicated by the referee, but with a couple of extra substitutions to eat up some time Mazarron were able to hold onto their win.
Full time: 1-2
Summary: Once again, it seems Mazarron only ‘get into gear’ when adversity strikes them. They ‘shoot themselves in the foot’ and then have to dig deep into their reserves of determination etc. If only they could do this from the start of the match.
They’re still too reliant on the long ball to Tolo and Diego, and don’t commit enough of the midfield to attack when they have the ball. They should also practice taking free kicks that get past the first line of defence and not go sailing over the heads of everyone and out of play.
However, what you can’t fault is the determination to play to the very last whistle and keep gong!
Team: Conejo, Lorca, Dani, Antonio Jose, Enrique (Said), Diego (Israel), Tolo (capt), Manu, Andreo (Juvenile), Liders (Chema), Mateo.
Man of the Match: Enrique
