Asociación Deportiva Sucina v Mazarron FC
This game is scheduled for Sunday 14th September but we await details, as usual.
AD Sucina play in a red shirt and black shorts strip at home so expect Mazarron to be in their changed BLUE away strip for this game.
Last season they played in the segunda autonomica finishing in a mid table 10th position but were promoted following a number of teams folding in the Murcian league.
Last weekend they were well beaten 3-0 away at Beniajan.
To my knowledge and definitely in my time following Mazarron FC this is the first encounter between the sides so no history of previous encounters for this game.
Sucina is situated near to San Javier and the journey will take about 55 minutes or so. From looking at the ground via google satellite the facilities look quiet basic. There doesn't appear to be any seating but it might have well changed since that image was taken and published.
The surface is reported to be artificial. I will be in that area on Saturday morning so might detour a bit and have a look and update this posting.
For independent travellers the coordinates for the "Los Amores" ground are: 37 53 08 N 00 56 40 W
If you missed last weekends demolition of Yeclano make sure that you pencil this match into your diary to see the 2014-15 version of Mazarron FC and if you were there last Sunday you know what to expect from the exciting and skilful team Jose Diego and Javi have put together.
We are currently in joint 3rd place in the table and have the leagues top scorer, TOLO, with three goals

INFORMATION ABOUT THE GROUND AND FACILITIES Sucinas football stadium lies on the edge of Sucina village some 300 meters away across rough ground. There will be no problem parking directly outside the ground as there is ample parking. The playing surface appears to be a newly laid 3G plastic playing area and the ground it self appears to be well maintained with no signs of litter or the usual sunflower seed shells laying around. The ground is surrounded by a wire fence with conifer tree planted to obscure the view from outside. THERE IS SEATING The seating is down the left hand side of the ground looking from the changing rooms and consists of about 100 metal seats but with no shade so take a hat. The seating is situated on the halfway line. There is a new changing room/block so I would presume that there are the usual toilet facilities. At one end the is a covered area with tables and chairs and, again, I would presume that this will be a small canteen. So all in all a nice little ground with reasonable facilities for supporters which should lead to a good day out.

A.D.SUCINA 1 MAZARRON FC 3
Mazarron came back from behind to defeat a resolute Sucina team and move into second place in the Primera Autonomica.
The game got off to an explosive start when the Sucina goalkeeper charged out of his goal to deny Tolo a goalscoring opportunity by handling outside the area. He was shown the inevitable red card but Mazarron failed to take advantage of the numerical advantage in a disappointing first half.
Too often, they overhit the final ball on a sloping and bouncy artificial surface and it was Sucina who took advantage of errors in the Mazarron defence enabling Antonio to give them the lead after 22 minutes. Neither side managed to create any clear-cut chances before the interval and Cristian’s free kick after 32 minutes did not trouble the second string Sucina keeper.
The second half was a different story as Mazarron started to play the ball on the ground with some excellent passing movements. Chema replaced Lorca at half time and raced down the right wing before producing a dangerous cross which was turned away for a corner with Cristian waiting to pounce.
After 60 minutes, Mazarron equalised after a spell of intense pressure. A short corner on the right was played to Enrique whose pin point cross was headed powerfully into the roof of the net by Cristian. A few minutes later, Cristian ran on to a through ball and raced clear of the Sucina defence only to be brought down by a late tackle. It was an obvious red card for the Sucina defender but the referee astonishingly showed a yellow card to Cristian for simulation.
Mazarron took the lead after 75 minutes when Tolo found Chema racing clear down the right and he drove the ball into the corner of the net from a narrow angle. A mistake by Dani almost let in Sucina for an equaliser but fortunately the shot went just over the bar.
The league’s leading scorer Tolo sealed the three points for Mazarron in the last few minutes when he beat the retreating Sucina defence before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball home.
There were 11 yellow cards in addition to the sending off in a game in which there was rarely a bad foul and Mazarron now face another away trip to third placed Beniajan next weekend.
Mazarron Team: Conejo, Lorca (Chema), Dani, Antonio Jose, Said, Alfonso, Enrique (Martin), Leaders, Israel (Juanillo), Tolo, Cristian.
Man of the Match: Cristian
