Lets look at the next five games leading up to Christmas, there should be rich pickings for Mazarron FC.
First up on Sunday we have CD Lumbreras and their current stats are
P9 W1 D5 L 3 GF7 GA13 Points 8
So shipping goals, not scoring many with only one win in 9. They are 15th in the table.
We then play CD Esparragal away scheduled for 1st December and they are even worse.
P9 W2 D2 L5 GF12 GA23 Points 8. They are 17th out of 18 teams drawing with Lumbreras 1-1 last weekend.
Then we have two home games on the bounce the first being against Churra on 8th December (mince pies and cider day at the ground) They will be the toughest of these side we will be playing, but with home advantage there's 3 points up for grabs again. Their stats are,
P9 W4 D1 L 4 GF 17 GA 19 13 Points and are one place and 1 point above Mazarron FC in 10th place in the league.
Then next up of these five games, again at home, is against rock bottom side Santiago De La Ribera FC and boy are they struggling. You think we have problems? how about these stats.
P9 W0 D1 L8 GF2 GA41 Points 1 18 out of 18 in our league.
The final game of 2013 is away on the 22nd December against Moratalla AD who are not doing much better. Of the 9 games that they have played they have only picked up 8 points and here are their stats.
P9 W2 D2 L5 GF12 GA21 Points 8 and are currently in 16th place.
So grounds for optimism between now and 2014 with a possible doubling of our points total so far in just 4 games.
2014 kicks off on my birth day, 12th January, at home to Abaran so let make that 15 points then

I spoke to Jose DA at todays game against Lumbreras and he thinks that he is about a week from returning following his leg injury playing futbol sal (indoor football) So we could see he, if it's only on the bench, next weekend.

As of 24th November the third highest scorer in our league is ALFONSO LIÑAN SERRANO, or as you might know him, our very own Captain ALFONSO with 6 goals.

I hope you're right about our chances in the next few games!
With only FOUR points currently separating 3rd from 11th, we'll either be soaring to unheard of (in recent years) heights or.............

PLAYERS IN/PLAYERS OUT. INFor the Abaran game Mazarron FC will have on display two new players. Both join us from Totana and are defence/midfielders. One, I forget which one, is a "Poyatos" enforcer type player which we have been missing in the middle of the field. I reckon, but don't quote me, that these recruits will allow Cecillo and Alfonso to push further up field to support Jose Ruben. 12 ISHMAEL15 ENRIQUEOUTAlcon has left Mazarron FC and moved to Pulpi over the winter break. Clemente and Chico have not rejoined Mazarron FC at this time.

HOT OFF THE PRESS. This is straight from Jose. TODAY HAVE SIGNED A NEW PLAYER "TOLO" HE IS A STRIKER. HE IS A COMING OF SOHO, A TOP SCORER, HE IS 20 YEARS OLD AND SO WE HAVE COVERED THE LOSS OF ALCON, HE WILL WEAR THE SAME NUMBER WEARING ALCON.
HE WILL PLAY THIS WEEKEND AGAINST BENIAJAN.On checking the goal scorers on the federation site it looks most likely that "TOLO" is BARTOLOME SERRANO BERG, who has scored 8 goals so far this season and is Soho Med's top striker.

A points of interest regarding the senior team is that Jose DA has decided to leave the club following a discussion with the Mazarron FC management regarding his financial demands.
In all honesty I don't think he been the player we saw in previous seasons and definitely not as good as he thinks he is.
This is the third time that he has let us down and walked out on Mazarron, he will find it hard to return a fourth time. Jose DA now plies his trade in a lower division along with VICTOR who has also left the club.

I have been informed by Jose that the club management have been actively looking to bring in a new goalkeeper, to challenger the current two we have on the books, for some time and are now close to signing someone, more details as I get them.
I'm sure that you will agree that the forwards, midfield and defence this season is the strongest that we have had for a long time but we have been let down time and time again by goalkeeping errors, hopefully we will be able to get someone in for the remainder of the season and hopefully challenge for a promotion place.

Below are details of our new goal keeper, MARCOS, signed from Bala Azul, at no cost, who we hope will be the answer to our 'keeper' problems this season.
Whilst playing for La Union he gained promotion before moving to Bala Azul where, unfortunately he was one of three goalkeepers on their books, the other two being well established at Bala Azul, they are ex Mazarron keeper Raul and Yoyo (but there again he's had an up and down season:-))
If selected, Marcos should be cleared to play on Sunday.
His photo is posted below this thread by Les.
Hopefully, Ismael will also be back to shore up the defence, he missed last weekend due to a silver wedding anniversary party. I am now just awaiting news of Alfonso's ankle injury.
Please make sure your there to give your support to the new lad and the rest of the team.
MARCOS

EDIT
There is a connection between MARCOS and Mazarron FC, the lads father, also called Marcos, was the Mazarron CF goalkeeper, I am now informed by Jose, in the 1982-1983 season (he thinks) and apparently he was very good, I only hope it rubs off on his son. I will try and get more details about him and post them here.
RUBEN will remain with the club with Noguera the guy making way.

Great news, it's taken long enough. Hopefully he will be given his debut on Sunday and instill some confidence the defense.

As at this time there doesn't appear to be much chance of an UK based team coming over to play Mazarron FC at the end of this season, Jose has put plans in place to bring a Spanish team, playing in a higher division, to Mazarron for an end of season friendly.
More news will be released as soon as I get it.

MAZARRON FC APPOINT A NEW MANAGER
The president of Mazarron FC has informed me that it is with great regret that the current Manager of Mazarron FC, Antonio Lorente, has been relieved of his duties following a down turn in the fortunes of the football club and he would like to put on record his thanks for all the work that Antonio has done for Mazarron FC over the last 18 months.
Jose has already identified and approach the new manager regarding taking over our senior side, a position that has been accepted.
The new manager, who will start immediately is called "Javi" full details at a later date.
He is being appointed for the remainder of this season and if all goes well could remain in charge for next year dependant on results and performances.
Javi was responsible for the magnificent turn around of the Mazarron FB Cadete side taking them from a side who finished rock bottom of their league with few, if any, wins to a table topping team this season. He will be replaced at the cadetes by his deputy.
Javi is a Mazarron resident and has worked tirelessly for our football club for a number of years, working his way through the junior teams and now reaching the senior role with the club as manager of the first team in Mazarron.
Jose says that Javi has many qualities including a good rapport with the playing staff but not at the expense of discipline, he has a good technical knowledge of the game and he seems to get the best from his players.
Javi is a Mazarron guy through and through and I hope that you will turn up at 5pm on Sunday to give him your support as he takes us into the last 11 games of the season.
