IT'S NOT JUST IN THE UK
Former West Ham and Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has been sacked by Serie A club Cagliari after just 10 league games in charge.
"Cagliari announce that Gianfranco Zola and his staff have been relieved of the technical leadership of the first team," the Sardinian club said in a statement.
"It was a decision which was taken reluctantly against a great man who has written unforgettable pages in the history of Cagliari, bringing brilliance and giving international prestige to the land of Sardinia."
Cagliari are 18th in the table, four points adrift of safety.

GUS ON THE BRINK?
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet will hold talks with the club's hierarchy on Monday, with his job under threat.
The Black Cats have won just once in 12 Premier League games and are one point above the relegation zone after a 4-0 thrashing by Aston Villa.
Poyet took training on Monday but there is a feeling within the club it will be difficult to continue with him as boss.

The Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF) has named a five-man shortlist for Herve Renard's successor as manager of the African champions. Of the contenders, Patrice Neveu, Paulo Duarte, Michel Dussuyer and Henri Kasperczak have all worked in Africa. Frederic Antonetti is the only member of the shortlist who has neither coached a national team nor in Africa.

Henry Kasperczak has been appointed coach of Tunisia for a second stint, replacing Belgian Georges Leekens.
The appointment means there are just two names left in the frame to coach Ivory Coast - Frenchmen Michel Dussuyer and Frederic Antonetti.

Meanwhile...
Former England boss Fabio Capello has left his role as Russia head coach after three years in the post. The 69-year-old signed a four-year contract extension in 2014 to keep him under contract until the 2018 World Cup, which will be staged in Russia. But the Italian's deal has been ended after a run of poor results. Russia have eight points from six games in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, and face the prospect of needing to win a play-off to reach the tournament. They were knocked out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in the group stage without winning a game. The Russian Football Union (RFU) said it had "reached an agreement to terminate his contract by mutual consent". Reports in Russia suggest Capello has received 15m euros (£10.7m) in compensation from the RFU.

ONE FOR THOSE "UP NORTH"
Scottish Championship strugglers Alloa Athletic have appointed Jack Ross as their new manager following the resignation of Danny Lennon.
Ross, 39, has agreed a deal that runs initially until the summer of 2016.
The former St Mirren defender has coaching experience from stints at Dumbarton and Hearts, where he departed in October.

Who'd manage here.......................?
"Turkish top-tier club Genclerbirligi have fired their fifth coach since the start of the season after only one match in charge. Yilmaz Vural, 62, managed the side for six days and one away league game which they lost 2-0. Genclerbirligi have 13 points from 17 matches and are 16th in the 18-team Super Lig. Ilhan Cavcav, president of the Ankara-based club, has appointed 51 different coaches since taking over in 1981. Turkish media reported Vural was sacked after asking to sign players in the mid-season window, a request Cavcav rejected saying the squad was big enough. (BBC Sport)"

Wow, if this is 'failure'.................
"Porto have sacked manager Julen Lopetegui despite losing just one league game this season. The 49-year-old Spaniard, appointed in May 2014, has overseen a Champions League win over Chelsea this season. (BBC Sport)"
Iker Casillas's team lost for the first time last week and that seems to have upset someone. Probably because it was a 6-pointer against Sporting when a win would have sent Porto to top spot.

Roma have sacked manager Rudi Garcia after a poor run of results in Serie A. Former Lille manager Garcia had seen his side win just once since the beginning of November, a 2-0 home victory against struggling Genoa. The Italians have been drawn against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League having qualified with the lowest number of points. Alberto de Rossi, who is the father of vice-captain Daniele, will take Wednesday's training session.

"We've all been there.
You've tried on a pair of jeans, quite liked them, but won't commit until you've visited three or four other shops. You then return to the first place and buy those jeans, having wasted the best part of an hour.
Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini is that shopper and Beppe Iachini is that pair of jeans, having been re-hired on Monday, just three months after getting the boot.
Between 10 November and 15 February, the struggling Sicilian Serie A side brought in four other bosses before realising Iachini was their man all along.
Davide Ballardini was the first replacement, but he was sacked in January after only seven games in charge.
Next up was Guillermo Barros Schelotto. However, Palermo failed to realise that the Argentine did not have the necessary Uefa licence.
Up stepped coach Giovanni Tedesco, who was handed the reins until Schelotto got his licence from Uefa. Unfortunately for Schelotto, his application was refused by European football's governing body.
So Palermo turned to youth team coach Giovanni Bosi, who had one game in charge - Sunday's 3-1 defeat by Torino - before he was replaced by the re-hired Iachini." (BBC Sport)

PORTO SACK THE REPLACEMENT
Porto have sacked coach Jose Peseiro after less than five months in charge.
The club are now looking for their 10th boss since Jose Mourinho left for Chelsea 12 years ago.
They finished third in the league, while Peseiro's final game in charge was the Portuguese Cup final, which they lost on penalties to Braga.
Don't worry son, back in England Man U sacked LVG and he won his cup final.
