BARCELONA PRISON FC LOOK TO RECRUIT MORE PLAYERS
A Spanish court has agreed to allow a fraud case against Barcelona's Brazilian star Neymar, weeks after the club itself was ordered to stand trial.
He was signed by Barcelona in 2013 for a reported €57m ($65m; £41m) and helped the club to success in this season's Champions League and La Liga.
But the courts believe the real price paid by Barcelona was far higher.
A Brazilian investment firm which owned 40% of his transfer rights argues it was defrauded out of millions of euros.
Barcelona's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, his predecessor, Sandro Rosell, as well as Neymar's father and his former club Santos have been named in the complaint by the company, DIS.

BARCELONA FC TO MOVE TO THE FRENCH LEAGUE?
While Catalan independence would be a dream for millions, doubts surround the future of their football team, FC Barcelona, which would be booted out of the Spanish League. However, the French Prime Minister believes he has the perfect solution.
Manuel Valls, who is also a big Barcelona fan and was actually born in the city, wants to invite the Catalan giants to play in the French top division, Ligue 1, if they are ever forced to quit La Liga in Spain.
"Monaco play in Ligue One, so why not Barcelona?" Valls said, speaking to Journal du Dimanche. "I'm a huge football fan, a Barca fan. They're in my blood. France knows it and they ask me about it on the streets."
Valls was referring to FC Monaco, which is owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev. Despite the principality not being a part of France, the team is still allowed to play in Ligue 1.
Barcelona’s fans have been some of the staunchest supporters of a move towards independence from Spain, while Catalan flags make regular appearances at the team’s games at the Camp Nou stadium.
However, the bosses of the Spanish league say that if Catalonia does achieve independence, it will have to find somewhere else to play.
“They couldn’t play in the league. The law prohibits it,” said Javier Tebas, the president of Spain’s LFP professional football league. He also warned about the future of Spanish football on his Twitter account if Barcelona were to leave. “If Spain breaks apart, the league breaks apart. Let’s hope we don’t arrive at that absurd situation.”
Critics say the Spanish authorities are digging their heels in to scare Catalan independence voters. They say that Spain already allows clubs from neighboring Andorra to compete in its league.
If Barcelona were to depart the Spanish league, this would lead to a significant drop in earnings for the Spanish football authorities. The Catalan giants are one of the biggest clubs of any sport in the world, with star players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar on their books.
On October 22, FC Barcelona announced it had made a record turnover of €608 million (US$672 million), helped by winning the UEFA Champions League last season.

Barcelona's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, his predecessor, Sandro Rosell, as well as Neymar's father and his former club Santos have been named in the complaint by the company, DIS. They're all at it! Barcelona's Javier Mascherano has admitted two counts of fraud totalling just over 1.5m euros (£1.1m).
The Argentina defender failed to declare 1.5m euros in earnings in 2011 and 2012, state prosecutors said.
He admitted to the charges in a court appearance in Gava, near Barcelona, lasting less than five minutes.
Mascherano - who has played for Barcelona since 2010 - is the latest high-profile footballer to come under scrutiny from Spanish tax authorities.
He is alleged to have attempted to conceal earnings from his image rights by using companies he owns in Portugal and the US.
A court filing released last month confirmed the player had repaid 1.75m euros - the full amount plus interest - and he may end up paying a fine and avoiding a trial. (BBCSport)

ONE RAP BEATEN TWO MORE TO GO.
Messi investigation dropped
A Spanish court has dropped a tax fraud investigation into Lionel Messi and his foundation linked to six friendly matches.
A Barcelona court said it was satisfied neither the Argentinian footballer nor the Lionel Messi Foundation were involved in trying to defraud Spain's tax office in this instance.
Spain's Prosecutor had asked the court to investigate possible tax offenses over games held between June 2012 and July 2013 in the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
It is one of three cases of unpaid taxes that Messi has had to face.

WHEN WILL FOLKS LEARN ABOUT "SOCIAL MEDIA?"
It is the stuff of dreams for any player to join Barcelona.
Yet within hours of signing for the club's reserve team, forward Sergi Guardiola was sacked after officials were alerted to "offensive tweets" he had posted two years ago about Barca and Catalonia.
Guardiola, 24, joined Barcelona B on Monday but, according to Marca, the Spanish national daily sport newspaper, his contract was terminated "some hours later" when they became aware of pro-Real Madrid tweets, including offensive language about Catalans.
Guardiola started this season at Madrid-based club Alcorcon in Spain's second tier.

When you're newly promoted and facing Barcelona at the Camp Nou, you need all the help you can get!
So, you have to feel sorry for Real Betis...
30 mins and 'keeper Adan makes a flying punch out and collides with Messi. PENALTY! Only the ref knows why.
With Messi seeing stars, up steps Neymar. Bang...hits the crossbar! Comes out and is sent back of the net by....Betis centre-back Westermann!
Not only that but Westermann and the other centre-back, Bruno, have both had to retire with injuries!
So with only one allowable sub remaining, Betis are in for a long slog.
But don't let that detract from a superb (typical) second Barca goal....Messi to Neymar to Messi.....and slipped past everyone for 2-0.
Half-time.
Less than a minute gone and it's Busquets to Suarez...3-0.
82 mins...Neymar to Suarez...4-0.
That's all folks!

GO TO JAIL, DIREC TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT £100 (But I bet he'll get away with it)
Spanish newspaper El Mundo are suggesting that Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has been sentenced to a year in prison and an 815,000 euro (£629,000) fine for tax evasion after appearing in court on Thursday.
I TOLD YOU THAT HE'LL GET AWAY WITH IT
Reprieve for Mascherano?
El Mundo are now reporting that, while Javier Mascherano admitted defrauding the treasury of 1.5m euros in 2011 and 2012, the Barcelona star has asked the judge if he can pay a further fine rather than serve the one-year prison term.
