BYE BYE RAFA
Rafael Benitez has entered the final week of his Newcastle contract with ‘no realistic prospect’ of him staying.
Benitez signed a three-year contract to replace Steve McClaren in March 2016, taking them up from the Championship in his first full season before avoiding Premier League relegation in each of his next two.
But Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is seemingly content with the Spaniard’s departure, as ‘no fresh talks have been arranged’ over Benitez’s future despite his deal expiring on June 30.
It is said that a new offer was made to him on May 17 that would have extended his contract by a year on the same salary, albeit with improved bonuses, but this offer hasn’t been accepted.
Look out for Rafa moving to China.

He might only have just been sacked by Forest but the bookies have already offered decent odds on Martin O’Neill taking over at Newcastle.

ALL THE BIG NEWS ONLY ON THE MAZARRÓN FORUM
Terry McPhillips has resigned as manager at Blackpool after one season in charge, the club has announced.
McPhillips, 50, took over the Seasiders as interim boss when Gary Bowyer left at the start of last season.
He led the club to a 10th place finish in League One after being appointed on a permanent basis in September 2018, having been in caretaker charge for nine matches.
"I never really had any intention of becoming a manager," he said on Friday.
During contract talks with the club's board on Tuesday, McPhillips disclosed he had no long-term desire to be a manager.
*so why did he take the job in the first place?*

YOU MUST BE JOKING. NEWCASTLE ARE DOOMED
Latest on Steve Bruce....
Newcastle are ready to make an approach to Sheffield Wednesday as they attempt to appoint Steve Bruce as Rafael Benitez’s replacement.
PA understands the 58-year-old Owls boss is the man at the top of the Magpies’ shortlist and that formal contact is imminent, with the club due to embark on their Premier League Asia Trophy trip to China on Saturday.
It is understood they would have to pay compensation of around £1million to release the Corbridge-born former Manchester United defender from his current contract.
Some bookmakers suspended betting on Bruce’s appointment on Tuesday after a flurry of bets saw him installed as odds-on favourite to fill the vacancy at St James’ Park.

3 GAMES INTO THE SEASON AND BANG, YOUR GONE
Huddersfield Town have sacked boss Jan Siewert, who led the Terriers to just one win in his seven months in charge.
The 36-year-old German told BBC Radio Leeds on Tuesday that he did not fear for his job after they lost to Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup first round.
However, a 2-1 defeat by Fulham on Friday left him with a record of just one victory from 19 games as boss.
He took over in January after David Wagner's exit, but could not prevent relegation from the Premier League.
