Should make a good Sunday with a 16.30 kick off. I can watch the tractor derby and see a good win for Norwich then a drive to the Municipal stadium to see my first game this year and a good Mazarron victory would top it off nicely.

NEXT HOME GAME
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA UNICO - game 23
Sunday 18/02/2018 kickoff 4.30pm (16.30)
To be played at stadium MUNICIPAL DE MAZARRON
MAZARRON F.C. v U.D. ABANILLA
We return home for the next game sitting in second place by 4 clear points but need to consolidate our automatic promotion spot by taking all three points against mid table Abanilla.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND?
Mazarrón FC on their travels collected all three points on their visit to Alquerias with fine goals from Mauro and Dani. By all opinions it was a good all round team performance from the boys in red the only downside was the red and yellow cards picked up which means that we will have three players missing next weekend, but more of that later.
Our opponents, Abanilla, were at home to Bullense and were comfortable 3-1 winners but again the dreaded red and yellow cards were flashed about and again they will be short handed for the visit to Mazarrón.
WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME WE MET? UD ABANILLA 2 - MAZARRÓN FC 5 (8.10.2017)
MAZARRÓN FC stay top of the league after another convincing win, 5-2 away to UD Abanilla.
Although It was a poor game on a dreadful artificial pitch but three points are three points.
MAZARRÓN could not play their usual passing game but adapted well to the conditions and could have won by far more. They took the lead on 12 minutes when Basi was on hand to head the ball home from 10 yards.
Gato made it two just before half time when he volleyed home from 25 yards after Javi Torrano's header had rebounded off the cross bar.
Abanilla rallied briefly in the early stages of the second half but Mazarróns defence held firm. At the other end Mazarron missed a number of good chances before Basi scored his second of the game after 73 minutes after a mistake by the Abanilla keeper.
Substitute Fran Costa scored his first goal for the club on 85 minutes heading home a Raul Torrano throw in and Dani Linares made it 5-0 with a clever lob two minutes later.
MAZARRÓN went to sleep in the last few minutes and let in two late goals.
But there was still enough time for Abanilla to have a player sent off before the referee blew the whistle for full time.
OUR VISITORS
Abanilla currently sit in 12th place in the league the same place that they finish last season so progress has been somewhat limited.
I would suppose that they will enjoy playing on a full size pitch with a grass (!) surface instead of their own postage stamp size pitch surrounded by dangerous concrete walls or will all the space baffle them?
CURRENT STATS
2nd Mazarrón F.C P 22 W 13 D 4 L 5 GF 48 GA 31 Points 43
12th UD Albanilla P 22 W 7 D 3 L 11 GF 35 GA 44 Points 24
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón F.C will definitely be without Nacho, two yellows = red, also hitting the 5 yellow card point are Dani Morales and Alfonso Canovas so all three will be watching from the stands for one game.
UD Albanilla will be without Jorge ROCAMORA MARTINEZ who saw a straight red last weekend.
Further suspensions are sanctions will be released on Thursday by the federation and will be posted on the Mazarrón forum and Los Amigos Facebook site when they are available.

Hopefully on Sunday it won't be a club day and we don't get tucked up by the bloke on the gate,so it will only be €3 or €4. You never know but the President might be an old romantic and as it's during the week of Valentine's Day the Ayotollahs are gratis or maybe leave her at home to sort out the tea for my return (and they say romance is dead). Hopefully with 3 players suspended we may see some painting being done as punishment. It won't be long until Boudia is Mazarron's answer to Picasso.........

Ipswich score in the 89th minute and think that they have won it but Norwich come back with a 95th minute equaliser, just love local derbys

HAT TRICK FOR MAURO
Thats 4-0 as Mauro get to keep the match ball with his hat trick.
Abanilla are reduced to 10 men late on.
FINAL SCORE
Mazarrón FC 4 Abanilla 0
And that’s it for another successful weekend for the boys in red, pity I can’t say the same about my other team in red, Forest😫

Ciudad lose at home to Algar so the gap comes down to 7 points. But Totana keep up the pressure by winning the local derby over Alhama. They are 2 points behind Mazarrón with the one game in hand. Sorry....correction, Totana are FIVE points behind with a game in hand! They are on the same points as Abaran where we visit next week. That will definitely be game of the week!
