NEXT AWAY GAME
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA
UNICO - game 16
Scheduled for Sunday 17/12/2017
To be played at the "JUAN CAYUELA" stadium
OLÍMPICO DE TOTANA v MAZARRON F.C.
Well let’s hope that the tide will turn for Mazarrón in this next away game. From what was an excellent start to the season and being in the promotion/playoff places all season Mazarrón now find themselves outside of the top six with a number of defeats recently both at home and away and usually against teams from the lower reaches of the league.
So what’s gone wrong recently? It’s the same squad with the same management structure. One or two suspensions haven’t helped but I’m sure that not the problem but what is blindingly obvious is that it needs to change and change quickly.
Last weekend Mazarrón faced lowly Murcia City and were well beaten and to rub salt into the wounds Mazarrón old boy, Chino, scored their first goal. Losing 1-2 at home to such opponents should not have been on the cards but lose we did.
Meanwhile Totana were at Bullense and won at a canter 0-3 a worrying sign for next weekend.
OUR OPPONENTS
Totana finished 20th in the Tercera division last season and were relegated. They suffered an horrendous start to the season scratching around for Points but recent improvements has seen them rise up the table and now overtaking Mazarrón and are no longer the ‘soft touch’ they once were in the early days of this campaign.
Totanas stadium in excellent. It has a natural grass playing surface which is normally in top notch condition. There is covered seating down one side of the pitch and the stadium boasts the usual canteen and toilet facilities.
On the numerous visits that I have made to this ground I haven’t often returned with happy memories but hopefully it will be a different story next weekend.
The stadium is simple to locate as it is positioned close to the end of the dual carriageway which passes Camposol and takes you straight to Totana. The ground can be located if you turn left at the traffic roundabout as you enter Totana some 200 meters on the left. Opposite the ground there is a bar/restaurant with and upstairs balcony which overlooks the ground and gives great views of the match. The grounds coordinates are 37° 45' 45" N, 01° 30' 04" W
The distance to the ground is only 20km taking just 15 minutes so it isn’t known at this time if there will be an away supporters coach. Watch the forum and Los Amigos Facebook site for further information when it becomes available.
Totana play in a red and white striped shirt, as per Sheffield United, so expect Mazarrón to be in their alternative strip for this game.
CURRENT STATS
3rd Olympico Totana P 15 W 9 D 3 L 3 GF 25 GA 16 Points 30
7th Mazarrón F.C P 15 W 8 D 3 L 4 GF 31 GA 22 Points 27
We’ve scored more but conceded more than our opponents take from that what you wish.
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Details of any sanctions or suspensions will be posted on Thursday night when they are released by the Federation.
