News of a famous Mazarrón name from the past. Not a player tho'! José Antonio Rodríguez Girona. Machuca has been coaching Orihuela CF last season, but has also been officially, Director of the Football School. They finished in 5th place in the Valencia Tercera, just missing out on the promotion play-offs. He has now decided to devote all his time to developing the school programmes and leave the first team to a new incumbent. Those of you recent converts to Mazarrón FC (or those with short memories) may need reminding that Machuca was the Mazarrón manager who gave the club one of it best seasons in 2006/07 which culminated in promotion to the Segunda B division. He's aged a bit since those days. Haven't we all!!!

Not a good week for Chino. Two yellows within 5 minutes saw him depart for an early bath in a game which saw two other red cards - one for each side.
R. MURCIA CITY 1-3 C.F. MOLINA

I fear Chino needs some anger management classes!
He's now out of action for THREE weeks after seeing red again last weekend.
I'll leave you all to work out what this Spanish means.......
"SIENDO UNO POR PRODUCIRSE DE MANERA VIOLENTA, UNOS MAS POR CONDUCTAS CONTRARIAS AL BUEN ORDEN DEPORTIVO Y UNO MAS POR ADOPTAR ACTITUDES PASIVAS ART. 130-H,122-c y122b (3 partidos)"
I can only assume that 'actitudes pasivas' means he refused to leave the field when dismissed!

If he still has that ferret growing under his lip I would book him ever week until he removed it.

WHERE WAS BASI
Basi was missing from the Las Garres line up last weekend. He is still listed as the second highest scorer in our league.

Willy Yemba has moved to Bala Azul scoring twice on his debut, including the winner, against Pinatar.
Basi is still missing from the Las Garres line up, is he injured 🤕 or has he moved on again?

HAVE A LONG MEMORY?
Remember a minute flying winger who came up through our juvenile squad who went by the name of Ismael (we knew him as ‘inch high, private eye’)
The lad had an eye for goal, could defeat most defenders and could draw a foul of penalty at a ‘drop of a hat’
Well if you need your hair cutting go to the new barbers near the lottery office near the market place in Mazarrón town and he will be to pleased to oblige. Although he will need a box to stand on to do the top of your head🤣

Ex Mazarron F.C. player also gets the MVP Another experience for the Mazarron-born Domi Acosta who, despite his youth, has been part of other teams such as Torredembarra, with which he has played in France and Switzerland, as well as with Vitoria de Setúbal de Portugal. With this championship achieved with the Netanya of Israel complete a great record to which he adds his matches with the U-21 national team, forming part of a team consisting practically of Mazarrón players. Undisputed player of the Playas de Mazarrón beach soocer gets this precious championship in a league highly valued in which great Spanish players participate by demonstrating their good game. In this case the Netanya was measured in the final at Farfala. In the absence of 2 minutes for the final whistle Domi scores the decisive goal that gives the victory. He is chosen MVP of the final demonstrating the quality that this player treasures on the sand. Domi Acosta, another great player who takes his game and the name of Mazarrón outside our borders.

JOSE AND HIS BROTHER
Remember young Jose who came through our juvenile ranks and played as a striker for the Mazarrón senior side as well as a spell with Bala Azul? His young brother also came through the same route to play for our first team?
Well if you get your groceries from Mercadona you will find Jose on the checkouts.
He said that both he and his brother have now finished with playing competitive football, pity.

Old friend Willy (Yemba) has surfaced again in a new incarnation - at Racing Murcia in the Preferente. And his game yesterday at Esparragal must have been a riot - possibly literally! FIVE double yellows! 4 for Esparragal and 1 for Racing Murcia. All Esparragal's came in the final ten minutes. Min 83 - 2nd yellow for Alejandro Min 88 - TWO yellows for José Antonio Min 89 - 2nd yellow for Jorgé Antonio Min 89 - TWO yellows for Ruben I'm not sure why they bothered. They'd been losing 1-3 for some time.
