There's no denying this has been a great year for them!
Uefa Super Cup, La Liga, Champions League and the Club World Cup.

TO PRETTY TO TACKLE?
Did you know that Cristiano Ronaldo has not made a single tackle or interception in La Liga this season?
He's one of 6 out of 267 players in the League who have played over 100 minutes.
... 4 are goalkeepers and the one other outfield player has not started a match...

How much worse can it get?
Real Madrid CF 0-1 Villarreal CF
Villarreal's first ever win at the Bernabeu.

THE DREADED VOTE OF CONFIDENCE
Real Madrid have total confidence in manager Zinedine Zidane, and the Frenchman will have the job for as long as he wants.
So that him gone then🤪

Another bad night for Los Blancos!
A 2-2 draw at lowly Levante leaves them in 4th place, 18 points adrift of Barca who play tomorrow.
Mind you, Villarreal (5th) lost at Betis and Sevilla (6th) lost at Eibar!
So it could have been worse.

And it gets no better!
'Espanyol de Cornella' as Piqué named them, could have been expected to let Real rack up a few goals to put one over their illustrious neighbours Barcelona of Barcelona!
But what happened?
In the third minute of time added on by our local hero arbi, Snr. Sanchez Martinez, up pops Gerard Moreno and slams the ball into the Real net.
Espanyol 1-0 Real Madrid.
Their first victory over Real in 23 attempts!
That'll teach Ramos to go up for a corner. Caught way out of position.
The Uber for ZZ must be hovering nearby now.

The Uber for ZZ must be hovering nearby now. What a strange season the man's had! Nowhere near catching Barca in La Liga (even being beaten to 2nd place by dreaded local rivals Atleti). Beaten in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey by Leganés who finished the season only one place away from relegation. And today winning his THIRD Champions League trophy in THREE years! Congrats to him and the REAL European champions!

IF FRANK LAMPARD HAD ONLY WAITED ANOTHER 24 HOURS
Zinedine Zidane says he is stepping down as Real Madrid boss, five days after leading them to a third straight Champions League triumph, claiming the club needs "a different voice".
Zidane told a news conference that "everything changes" and "that's why I took this decision".
He leaves having guided the Spanish club to three successive Champions League titles and one La Liga success since taking over in January 2016.

WHO’S IN THE RUNNING FOR REAL MADRID JOB NOW THAT FRANK LAMPARD HAS TAKE THE BIG JOB AT DERBY COUNTY?
Real are looking for their fourth manager in five years.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with Real in the past. The Argentine signed a new five-year contract at Spurs last week.
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri could also come into the frame, while Arsene Wenger wants to carry on in management after leaving Arsenal after 22 years in charge.
Italian Maurizio Sarri, most recently of Napoli, is also available.

I'm not convinced that Zidane 'walked' of his own accord.
Being so far behind Barcelona in La Liga, as well as losing the second spot to Atlético, plus the humiliation of losing in the Copa to Leganés will not have gone down well with Pérez (El Presidente).
Remember also that Pérez was instrumental in bringing Bale to Madrid, so Zidane's treatment of him after the CL final won't have helped his cause.

Taxi for Sñr. Lopetegui?
Did Zidane know what was coming?
After an hour, it's Real Madrid 0-2 Levante UD
Real Madrid are now experiencing the longest goal drought in their history. They have not scored in 464 minutes - the previous record was in April 1985.
72 minutes......................
If only he had done it 15 minutes ago!!!
Marcelo scores for Real.
1-2.....game on.
Their 1 goal was enough to move them UP to 5th - until tomorrow's games!

MARCA has just confirmed his departure.....
"Julen Lopetegui dismissed as coach of Real Madrid, Solari replaces him. It is official. Julen Lopetegui has stopped being the coach of Real Madrid after falling 5-1 at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, a defeat that has been the straw that has filled the glass of the patience of President Florentino Pérez. His replacement will be Santiago Hernán Solari (Rosario, Argentina, 1976), who rises from Castilla."
Although it is said Solari is only a temporary position until they can sort out Antonio Conte.

DIDN’T SEE THIS ONE COMING
Real Madrid are set to appoint Santiago Solari as the club's permanent manager.
The Spanish Football Association says it has received Solari's contract from the La Liga club, although there has not yet been an announcement from Real.
Solari took over on 29 October on an interim basis after the sacking of former Spain manager Julen Lopetgui.
