NEXT AWAY GAME
LIGA PHILIPS PREFERENTE GRUPO UNICO - game 19
Sunday 22/01/2017 kickoff 5pm (17:00)
To be played at the CAMPO MPAL. DE LOS GARRES "LAS TEJERAS"
U.D. LOS GARRES v MAZARRÓN F.C.
It was at Los Garres last season when a last minute laps in concentration denied the point Mazarrón needed to make the payoffs so three points at the weekend would be sweet.
And after last weekend disappointing 1-1 draw against lowly Montecasillas and believe you me that was two points dropped not one gained, Mazarrón travel to Los Garres to try to make amends.
Earlier in the season we entertained Los Garres in Mazarrón and here is a résumé of that days events:-
MAZARRÓN FC 0 - U.D. LOS GARRES 0
Mazarron picked up their first point of the season with a goalless draw in a hard fought encounter against a strong UD Los Garres team who made the early running and both sides saw free kicks go well over the bar. On 10 minutes excellent work by Javi Torrano saw him running almost the length of the field, evading a number of defenders, before he was finally dispossessed. Los Garres picked up the loose ball and broke away with the final shot going just wide.
Mazarron went close when Javi Torrano's corner was headed goalwards only to be scrambled clear for another corner. Both sides were struggling for supremacy but Javi Torrano then played in Koko whose shot was well saved by the Los Garres keeper.
The game was very scrappy with neither side able to string passes together and adopting the long ball option on too many occasions. Chino went close for Mazarron with a long range shot which was just over the cross bar. Los Garres best chance of the first half came just before the interval but Pablo in the Mazarron goal was more than equal to the task with a good save.
Mazarron started the second half well and, at last, began to pass the ball with some good build up play without the end product.
A free kick for Mazarron from the half way line found Juan Andreo in the six yard box but he failed to make the most of the opportunity and the ball was scrambled clear. Then Raul had an overhead kick saved before Los Garres missed the best chance of the game when the ball trickled slowly across the goal line with none of the visiting forwards able to apply the final touch.
Mazarron continued to press forward in search of their first goal of the season but despite their efforts had to settle for a point.
OUR OPPONENTS GROUND
Los Garres is a small village to the south east of Murcia City, the village, like Mazarrón, is split into two distinct areas and the stadium in the middle of the second bit. It is located on Calle Tejeras with coordinates of 37° 57' 44" N, 01° 05' 08" W
There is ample on street parking surrounding the ground with many small restaurants and bars to slake your thirst. Within the ground there is a small canteen and a modern toilet block.
The ground lies 60KM and 44 minutes away from Camposol. The playing surface is artificial and is of reasonable quality. Los Garres play in a green and white striped shirt so Mazarrón should be in their red strip.
SUSPENSIONS
Mazarron will be without Boudia for this game after his two yellows last weekend whilst Los Garres had a defender and their manager shown red cards in their 0-0 away draw against Alquerias

MAZARRÓN FC ADD FIREPOWER UP FRONTMazarron FC have signed 25 year old striker Miguel Mens Mateos to add an additional option to lead the line. The striker joins us from Tercera division local rivals Olipico Totana. Miguel played for La Hoya 'B' last season and helped them gain promotion to the Tercera division from our Preferente division scoring 10 goal from his 21 appearances so he will be a great addition to Mazarrón FC. This season Miguel has mainly been used as an impact player off the bench featuring in 19 of Totana's games scoring two goals but this is in a side wallowing at the foot of the table and look destined to rejoin the Preferente next season. in Miguel we certainly haven't signed a saint as he has see 5 yellow cards from his 19 appearances.

UD LOS GARRES 0 MAZARRON FC 3
Mazarron gave one of their best performances of the season so far with an excellent 3-0 away victory at UD Los Garres.
Against a team with the best defensive record in the league, Mazarron took control of the game early on and dominated the first half. Jimmy had a shot saved in the second minute and new signing Miguel was wide of the target with an effort two minutes later. However, Mazarron were indebted to central defender Raso who made a great intervention in the twelfth minute to break up a dangerous Los Garres attack.
A poor back pass by Andreo almost let the home team in after 17 minutes but Marcos was on hand to head the ball for a corner. Andreo made amends five minutes later with a great tackle in midfield and his pass found Miguel on the edge of the penalty area. The ball was played out wide to Raul on the right and his cross to the far post was controlled by Jimmy who hit as fierce drive into the roof of the net to give Mazarron the lead.
Raul then hit a stunning shot from all of 35 yards which cannoned off the cross bar with the Los Garres keeper well and truly beaten but it was 2-0 to the visitors on 26 minutes. Javi Torrano's through ball found Dani just inside the penalty area and he ran on to find the net with a delightful chip over the keeper's head.
Young Pablo in the Mazarron goal then had to make a fine save to keep Los Garres out but the interval came with Mazarron deserving their two goal advantage.
Miguel had been the subject of some strong challenges by the uncompromising Los Garres defenders and he was replaced by Chino at half time. Los Garres began the second half like a house on fire and Mazarron had to defend heroically to preserve their lead. After 58 minutes Raso again intervened with a tremendous block when it seemed certain that the home team would score. A minute later Los Garres rattled the post following a right wing corner.
However, Mazarron weathered the storm and looked dangerous on the break. Jimmy was causing problems down the left hand side and his cross was just missed by Chino running in at the far post. Chino made no mistake after 65 minutes though when he drove in a trademark free kick from the edge of the penalty area to give Mazarron a three goal cushion.
Raul hit the post for the second time after 77 minutes when he broke clear on the right but Los Garres should have pulled a goal back a minute later when a corner was headed wide. The home continued to pile on the pressure in the closing stages and Pablo had to make a couple of excellent saves to keep a clean sheet for the visitors.
The win moves Mazarron up to eighth in the league table, their highest of the season and they are now just one point away from a play-off position,
Team: Pablo; Raul Torrano (Pedro); Raso; Juan Andreo; Marcos; Andreo; Dani; Jimmy; Javi Torrano (Steven); Miguel (Chino); Raul (Jose).
Man of the Match: Jimmy
