FC CARTAGENA 'B' v MAZARRÓN FC
Scheduled for Sunday 2nd October 2016
(Cartagena FC 'B' have played all of their home games this season on a Sunday)
Following a great 3-0 home win against CD Esparragal last weekend Mazarrón FC are back on the road to face newly promoted FC Cartagena 'B' and a trip to another new ground, but more of that later.
Our next opponents played in the Primera Autonomica last season finishing as runners up and thereby gaining promotion, and remember they have the full weight of Cartagena FC senior side behind them with both facilities, coaching staff and financial clout. They currently sit in 3rd place in our league having won 4 of their 5 games scoring 20 goals in the process so will be a tough opponent especially when we are facing them on their own ground.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND?
As you should be aware Mazarrón FC gained their first win of the season following the demolishing of CD Esparragal in a game where they were dominant throughout and running out as comfortable 3-0 winners.
FC Cartagena were away at Montecasillas where an excellent performance gave them three points with a 2-4 win.
THE GROUND
This match takes place at the "JUAN ANGEL ZAMORA" stadium which is situated on Calle Dr Barraquer in Cartagena and is off the road that runs from the Eroski super market past the Corte Inglés store which is situated on Calle Jorge Juan then a left turn onto Calle Felix Marti Alpera and the ground is situated on your right at its junction with Calle Dr Barraquer. For those with sat nav the co ordinates are 37° 37' 06" N, 00° 59' 34" W The ground is 40KM and 40 minutes away from Camposol.
The stadium boasts (?) an artificial playing surface which appears well worn with some seating down one side of the ground. I don't have any other details of other facilities at the ground such as toilets, canteen etc. Price of entry is also not known at this time. The ground is surrounded by housing and appears to have plenty of on street parking around the stadium. Details of the away supporters coach will be posted as they become available.
FC Cartagena 'B' wear a strip identical to their senior side which is a black and white shirt with black shorts so Mazarrón FC will be in their usual red shirts and blue shorts.
CURRENT STATS
3rd FC CARTAGENA 'B' P 5 W 4 D 0 L 1 GF 20 GA 7 Points 12
13th MAZARRÓN FC P 5 W 1 D 1 L 3 GF 4 GA 6 Points 4
Details of the kickoff and team news will be published on the Mazarrón forum as soon as they become available.
