NEXT HOME GAME
MAZARRON F.C. v PLUS ULTRA-MARVIMUNDO
Scheduled for Sunday 6th November (The senior team are at home on this day at our home ground so I expect that this game will be played on Saturday)
Following last weekends fine 1-2 away win in Jumilla Mazarrón FC take on bottom side Plus Ultra who have yet to obtain a victory this season drawing 3 of their 9 games and losing the other 6. In the process they have shipped 18 goals whilst scoring just 6. Although they did secure a 1-1 draw last weekend against Molina who are currently in 9th place in the league.
This is the sort of game that Mazarrón must win and win well to ensure that they move further away from the drop zone.

FINAL SCORE
MAZARRON F.C. 4 v PLUS ULTRA-MARVIMUNDO 1
Mazarrón goal scorers Jose Yordy TAFUR PADILLA, Domingo CABRERA ACOSTA, Alfonso GARCIA LIETOR & Alejandro ACOSTA GARCIA
A game of two halves with Plus Ultra playing a nice passing game whilst Mazarrón were very much playing on the counter attack.
The first goal of the game came from a right to left move with Mazarróns flying left winger, number 7 Jose and my man of the match, dancing around a stranded goal keeper to slip the ball into an empty net.
The other main talking point of the first half was goalkeeper Pablo bringing down a visiting striker giving away a penalty and being lucky to only get a yellow card. Pablo dusted himself down and proceeded to save the spot kick.
Half time Mazarrón 1 Plus Ultra 0
The second half was a completely different affair with Mazarrón really picking up the tempo and literally running running and passing the opposition into the ground scoring a further 3 goals in the process.
Plus Ultra snatched a consolation goal in the final minute to leave the score at:-
Final score Mazarrón FC 4 Plus Ultra 1

CAMPO MPAL. DE EL RANERO
RANERO C.F. v MAZARRÓN F.C.
A tough trip ahead for the boys for next weekends game. There is 12 places but only 7 points between 2nd placed Ranero and 13th placed Mazarrón as we go into this game. Although there are a few good signs for our juvenile side.
Mazarrón had a cracking 4-1 home win last weekend whilst Ranero were beaten 2-1 away at Molina.

LIGA NACIONAL JUVENIL GRUPO X - game 12 Saturday 19/11/2016 16:00
ESTADIO MUNICIPAL DE MAZARRON
MAZARRON F.C. v CARTAGENA F.C.-UCAM
After last weekends 4-0 away drumming this game could not have come at a better time with Cartagena stuck firmly in the relegation zone.
Mazarrón need the three points to pull themselves away from the drop zone and with home advantage they should do it.

FINAL SCORE
MAZARRON F.C. 2 v CARTAGENA F.C.-UCAM 3
Mazarrón goal scorers
Sergio RAMALLO CARRASCO & Mohammed ABIDI
Following last seasons promotion it was obvious that the opponents this year would be made of sterner stuff and today was no exception.
Although Cartagena are at the lower level of the division they were well organised and had a good passing game.
Mazarrón were very much on the back foot for most of the first part of the first half but surprisingly took a 1-0 lead following good defensive work on the left and a quick ball delivered for the initial goal by Sergio, but after that it was backs to the wall for the remainder of the first half.
And it came as as no surprise that Cartagena equalised as their twin strikers strolled through the home defence to slot home.
The game then stagnated until the half time whistle was blown.
As often is the case over here the officials came out for the second half on a mission to penalise every tackle and the yellow cards were flashed at the slightest infringement. This was not a dirty game and at least half of the cards issued baffled the watching supporters. Mazarrón FC won this one though 5 yellow cards to Cartagenas one.
But the game changed on a unbelievable act of inept referring I have witnessed. A defence splitting ball was put on the plate for Domingo to score but a fine tackle inside the box prevented him scoring, OK so far. As the ball was hacked out of defence it clearly hit the hand of a Cartagena defender denying Mazarrón to take advantage of disorder in the visitors penalty area. The ref was two meters away his female third official 10 meters away and level with play but despite the protestation of the home side the blatant penalty was waved away.
To compound the absolute awful decision by the match officials the ball was then played to the edge of the Mazarrón penalty where a very, very soft free kick awarded. The wall was well placed the home keeper prepared, the free kick was taken which took a wicked deflection and nestled into the back of the net. What an injustice. Cartagena increased their lead later in the game but Mazarrón didn't give up and Mohammed scored in injury time but to little to late.
FINAL SCORE Mazarrón FC 2 Cartagena 3

SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón will be missing Pablo LOPEZ MOLINA, our excellent goalkeeper, for this game following his double yellow card last weekend. He's suspended for one game.

MATCH REPORT
Maybe it was because Mazarróns excellent goal minder, Pablo, was suspended for this game following last weekends dismissal for two yellow cards and the need to protect his rather unsure, flapping replacement or the opposition being of a such higher caliber than our boys but whatever it was Mazarrón were here to defend and were set up in a 4-5-1 formation with Domingo playing the lone striker isolated up the field with zero support in the hope of scrapping a point.
Nearly the whole of the 90 minute game was played in the Mazarrón half with back to the wall defending being the order of the day.
It wasn't until the 24th minute Mazarrón broke past the half way line and had a half chance that missed to the right of the post. So it was with some surprise that the home team took the lead in the 28th minute. A long pun out of defence found Domingo who was fouled on the edge of the box and from the resultant free kick the ball was scrambled home by number 9 Alfonso. 1-0
Service was then resumed with Murcia always on the attack and that lasted until the last minute of the first half when a speculative cross into the box beat the stand in keeper who was left rooted to the spot. 1-1 and half time.
The second half followed the trend of the first but with Murcia more dominant than before and it wasn't long before the flood gates opened. On 50 minutes a free header from a corner made it 1-2 then a mix up between two defenders allowed a simple chance and it was 1-3. A good run and passing movement between two Murcia forwards sliced the defence open and a cracking shot made it 1-4.
It could have been a cricket score by the end and so Mazarrón move on to the next game looking for the points needed to move themselves away from the dreaded drop zone.
FINAL SCORE MAZARRÓN FC 1 MURCIA 4
FOOTNOTE
My worry is this, Mazarrón have been spoiled in recent seasons with excellent young players moving up to the senior side via the juvenile team, it's been like a conveyor belt of talent, but who of this current juvenile side, who I watch every home game, would I say could make that step up?
There's Pablo the goalkeeper always assured between the sticks, Domingo but he's somewhat hit and miss but has potential, Diego the excellent and tough number 2 who even at this age supports a full beard and is a no nonsense hard tackling defender but then you are looking. Maybe number 8 Cristian and number 9 Alfonso but both have a long way to go to make that next step up. It's a worry.

NEXT AWAY GAME
LIGA NACIONAL JUVENIL GRUPO X - game 15
Sunday 11/12/2016 4.30pm (16:30)
To be played at
CAMPO MPAL. DE CABEZO DE TORRES
ATLETICO CABEZO DE TORRES v MAZARRÓN F.C.
This is 6th placed Atletico Cabezo de Torres v 4th from bottom, and in the relegation zone, Mazarrón.
After last weekends poor result Mazarrón need to turn their season around and were not better than at their next opponents. At least we will have Pablo back between the sticks.
