THE END OF ONE SEASON AND THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT SEASON.
And it starts with a cut price appointment at Cardiff.
Head coach Paul Trollope is set to be confirmed as Russell Slade's successor as Cardiff City first-team boss.
Former Wales midfielder Trollope, 43, had been part of Slade's coaching team since February 2015.
Slade was removed as manager of the Championship club at the end of the season and has taken up a new role as head of football, in which he will oversee scouting, among other duties.
Trollope, in his new role, will not report to predecessor Slade

THIS SEAGULL IS NOT FLYING THE NEST

OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDES THE SEASIDE, BUT NO LONGER.
Blackpool have parted company with manager Neil McDonald following their relegation from League One.
He joined the Tangerines at the start of the campaign after their drop from the Championship, but was unable to prevent back-to-back relegations.
McDonald, 51, had already spoken about being unsure of his future after the final-day defeat at Peterborough.
The former West Ham assistant manager won just 13 of his 56 games in charge during his one-season stay.

WHAT HAVE I DONE? I WAS ONLY JOKING. Nottingham Forest will battle fellow Championship side Blackburn to land Neil Warnock. Manager Warnock is in demand after quitting Rotherham, who he worked miracles to keep in the second tier this season with six wins in eight matches from February to April, earlier this week. Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi is interested in the veteran boss, who boasts three promotions to the top flight on his CV, as he wants someone who can lead the former English and European champions back to the Premier League. Red Bull Salzburg boss and former Brighton coach Oscar Garcia is also on his short-list to replace Dougie Freedman, who was sacked in March.

IS 'KING BILLY' ON HIS WAY BACK?
Former Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is reportedly in the running to take charge of Charlton Athletic.
The 51-year-old Scot has been out of work since being sacked by the Reds over two years ago.
But he could be on his way back into management with the Addicks if reports he is a contender for the top job at The Valley are true.
Davies is understood to be set to hold talks with Charlton, who were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season, this week
OR IS IT BLACKBURN?
Former Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies says he is 'hungry' to get back into football management.
And Blackburn Rovers are the latest club to be linked with the Scot.
The Lancashire Telegraph report Davies is seen by Rovers as a potential replacement for Paul Lambert.
He was questioned about the vacancy at Ewood Park, but would only say: "There are many reasons why I've stayed out of the game for so long but I'm hungry and ready to get back into football."
*The reason he's been out of football for two years is that he has been sat on big fat pay deal with Forest since his sacking, which has just run out, and if he got another managers job this would have effected his payoff.

HAS THE CHOSEN ONE BEEN CHOSE?
ASTON VILLA have met with David Moyes about a sensational return to English football.
Christopher Samuelson, set to be named as executive chairman of a new Villa structure, held talks with Moyes last Thursday.
The former Man Utd boss has been out of work since being sacked by Spanish club Real Sociedad in November.
There is no agreement at this stage and the club have already made initial approaches to out-of-work Nigel Pearson and Roberto Di Matteo – though the Italian met with AS Roma officials on Saturday

MOYES BAILS OUT ONE OF THE WORSE JOB IN FOOTBALL, AND CAN YOU BLAME HIM?
"The Villa job ticked several boxes for Moyes - including working again with Keith Wyness, soon to be appointed chief executive, a role he filled at Everton for five years, working harmoniously alongside Moyes until 2009.
"The two have since kept in touch, but in the end Moyes felt he had to pass on Villa, even though sorely tempted.
"The field has narrowed now to Nigel Pearson - the preferred choice of the current chairman, Steve Hollis - and Roberto Di Matteo.
