FINAL GAME
Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th May 2016
CD MINERA v MAZARRÓN FC
Firstly lets get this right, congratulations to Mazarron FC juveniles on gaining promotion to the Liga Nacional Juvenil (national juvenile league) where they will be still playing sides in Murcia but against the cream of big clubs juvenile sides, an achievement indeed.
But it could have been so much better if results and performances went their way last weekend.
With Santa Ana only drawing Mazarron had a chance of securing the league championship but, like the D€rby County's coach after the Hull City game, the wheel came off the bus when they threw away a 1-0 lead losing to lowly Roldan 1-4. Santa Ana now sit top with a one point advantage over Mazarron FC with one game to play.
So, like the senior side, we are dependent upon other results next weekend as the only chance they have of gaining that top spot. If not it will be runners up for our excellent juvenile side.
The boys opposition next weekend are as good an opponent as Mazarron could hope for. CD Minera currently sit in 16th place and are already relegated. They have won only 9 games all season and have conceded 62 goals. Of those goals Mazarron scored 6 in a 6-1 win back in January.
Mazarron FC will be without at least two players with one being the influential Eric, known locally as Topol, due to two very harsh red card decisions by the ref last weekend, decisions that turned the game.
More details of the game will be published on the forum when they become available.

Whilst Santa Ana also look to have an easy game at home against 13th placed Pinatar. Yes but back in week 17 in January Pinatar held Santa Ana to a 1-1 draw, we can only hope.

SUSPENSIONS
We have 4 members of the juvenile set up suspended for Sunday's game
Domingo CABRERA ACOSTA (5 yellow cards), Alfonso GARCIA LIETOR (2 yellow cards in one game), Eric RODA GONZALEZ (straight red, last defender denying scoring opportunity), and the president of Mazarron FC Jose Miguel RODRIGUEZ GIMENEZ (questioning the parentage of the match officials)
So two big blows with Eric and Domingo missing

3rd placed A.D. Vistaegre Murcia were beaten 5-4 away at Ciudad Jardin E.F.-UPCT and stay 3 points behind Mazarron FC.
I know that Mazarron are already promoted but it's nice to do it with a good points gap as opposed to doing it via the head to head rule.
All we need now is a good result for us on Sunday and for Santa Ana to have a 'mare'

FINAL SCORE
CD MINERA 1 v MAZARRÓN FC 3
The news on reaching the ground was that Mazarron would be without half of its normal first team line up through suspension, work/family commitments and injures. These missing players included the likes of Eric, Andreo, Steven, Domingo and others, so it was with some trepidation that we settled down in the excellent Minera stadium and wondered what sort of Mazarron FC we would see today.
We needn't worry as our excellent side had this game in its pocket from the 4th minute when pressure from the Mazarron forward line pressured a home side defender to head the ball into his own net, although this goal has been credited to Ismael.
0-1
Only last ditch blanket defending by Minera prevented Mazarron running up a cricket score as they peppered the goal which led a charmed life.
But wouldn't you credit it the next goal was an equaliser for Minera as a ball pinging around the Mazarron goal mouth it was forced over the line, much against the run of play and not deserved.
1-1
On the stroke of half time the best goal of the game was scored by Ismael but created by a group of four of our boys whose intricate passing left the home side flat footed and unable to prevent Ismael slide the ball home.
Half time 1-2
Between the start of the second half and the end of the game Mazarron changed 5 members of the starting line up including the goal keeper who had such a poor game last weekend. So many including the 5/6 players missing and the substitute Mazarron showed the depth of the squad available to the coach.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first and Mazarron coasted towards the final whistle until the last play of the game when an excellently delivered free kick was nodded into the back of the net by an unmarked Mohammed Kadafi, one of our excellent Mazarron cadete forwards playing just his second game for the juvenile side. He has scored 23 goals for the Cadetes the third highest in the league, one for the future indeed.
1-3
Minerva only had time to kickoff before the final whistle was blown.
Jose, the president of both our senior and juvenile teams was then subjected to 10 'bumps' by the players and they walked of the pitch in the knowledge that next season they will be playing in a higher division, not as champions but runners up 6 points clear of the third placed team but you can't have everything.
