MAZARRON HOLD LOCAL RIVALS TOTANA
FINAL SCORE
OLIMPICO DE TOTANA 1 v MAZARRON F.C. 1
Mazarron goal scorer Antonio ANDREO GOMEZ
But is this one point gained or two points dropped? We'll see when the other results come in tomorrow.
A member of the Mazarron squad/team was dismissed in the 89th minute but they are not listed on the team sheet? Strange, was it the Physio?

Santa Ana win the big game against Vistalegre to keep their promotion hopes on track and keep Vistalegre away from Mazarrón's second place. But Mar Menor win and cut the difference now to only 3 points. More squeaky-bum time! Next week's top 2 clash really is a must-win game for Mazarrón. www.mazarronfc.es/juveniles_primera.htm

NEXT GAME
4 GAMES TO GO
Scheduled for Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th May 2016
MAZARRÓN FC v EF SANTA ANA
It's the big one, top of the league Santa Ana visit second placed Mazarron a game that could decide who finishes up champions of the league and are promoted and who will be the runners up but also gain promotion to a higher level. You get nothing for finishing third in this division.
Just 4 points separate the two sides with four games to go and of those four matches for Mazarron they comprise of lowly opposition so a win at the weekend could put it all back into the melting pot. But if Santa Ana come away with the points they would surely be crown champions.
Mazarron must also look over their shoulder at Mar Menor who are just 3 points behind them. Another incentive to win I'm sure.
These top two sides met in Santa Ana in December when the home side won 2-0. Mazarron need to reverse this scoreline at the weekend in order to make that final push for the tittle or the minimum of securing that second automatic promotion place.

FINAL SCORE
MAZARRON FC 6 v CD SANTA ANA 0
What a game, what an alround team performance. As well as scoring 6 we hit the woodwork 4 times and their keeper made 4 great saves.
You have to remember that the opposition are the current league leaders having swept most opposition before them but it was Mazarron FC that rushed into a 3-0 lead within the first ten minutes.
After that goal deluge Santa Ana steadied the ship and had an excellent 15 minutes of control but they just couldn't get past the stalwarts of the home side defence in Eric and captain Pedro. They broke up attacks moving the ball forward and did the simple things like putting the ball into row Z when danger threatened.
Domingo and Andreo were majestic in attacking midfield roles with Andreo scoring two cracking goals in the game.
Up front Ismael, Stalin and Pablo terrorised the Santa Ana defence with one goal by Ismael a sublime dipping shot from some 20 meters out dipping at the last moment just under the bar, as a man the supporters in the stands stood and cheered.
After Santa Ana's 15 minutes in the sunshine Mazarron reassumed control of the game, a control that they wouldn't lose until the final whistle. Two more goals were rattled in one being a fierce strike on the volley by Pablo which flew like a bullet into the visitors net.
The 5th goal, just before half time was met by the visitor in full knowledge that they weren't going to turn this game around. But the Santa Ana captain, Pablo Garcia Martinez, couldn't take any more and flew into a rant at the referee. This resulted in a straight red card making a bad situation even worse for the visitors. I will never forget the site of this young man walking a few paces off the pitch then falling to his knees and thumping the grass not once but three times he repeated this antic, 'stupid boy Pike'
The second half was a stroll for the home side who, against ten men, played the ball on the ground leaving Santa Ana to chase shadows as Mazarron created chance after chance and it was only fine goal keeping and the woodwork that prevented Mazarron running up a cricket score.
Mazarrons flying winger, Steven, came on switching from the left to the right touch line as opportunities presented themselves and a move created by him resulted in the final goal of the game.
I am presently unable to give more details of scorers and how this result effects the top of the table until later, I can't do it now as the federation web site results page is wrong, they even have Mazarron with only 10 players and one of the stars of the game, new boy Ishmael a Gareth Bale lookalike, isn't even on the team sheet and he score a couple of great goals.

NEXT GAME AND JUST 3 PARTIDOS TO GO
7.45pm (19.45) Saturday 14th May 2016 AD ALQUERIAS v MAZARRÓN FC
I'm just coming down following that devastating display against the league leaders last weekend but it's back to basics for the boys as they chase that top spot currently held by last weekends sacrificial lambs, Santa Ana, who are just 3 points ahead of Mazarron FC.
This weekends opposition are AD Alquerias who sit in 13th place in the league just one point above the relegation zone and there are a number of teams just below them who are looking to Mazarron to help them by beating Alquerias.
The two sides met in December last year and it was a 7-1 home win for Mazarron. A repeat performance would strengthen Mazarrons push for the tittle and promotion and could consign Alquerias to the dreaded relegation zone.
Meanwhile Mazarron currently sit comfortably in second automatic promotion place but surely want that top spot.

And with head-to-head advantage over Mar Menor and Vistalegre, who are both 9 points back with 3 to play, I reckon that guarantees promotion to the Liga Nacional, which is sort of the equivalent to the first team's Tercera!
All the youngsters are really doing us proud this season with championships and other promotions.

AND IT GETS BETTER
Santa Ana lose 0-1 at home so Mazarron go top with two games to play.
7am: Strange, the federation have now removed this scoreline, what's happening here? I'll keep an eye on this game.
7.30am: Scoreline reinstated, Santa Ana lose 0-1, Mazarron go top.

NEXT (and final) HOME GAME
6pm (18.0) Saturday 21st May 2016 MAZARRÓN FC v ROLDAN AD
The results have certainly gone our way in the last couple of weeks and Mazarron FC now sit proudly on top of the league with just two games to go.
Next up for the boys in their last home game of this exciting season are Roldan AD who sit in 8th place and with nothing to play for.
The two sides met in January when we stormed to a 0-4 away win.
The ball is now certainly in our lads court if they want to win this league or simply get promoted by finishing second, over to you lads.

DOING THE SUMS
With just two game to go its down to four teams to sort out the two promotion places with the top two holding all the cards and the others hoping for a slip up.
The table currently reads as following
1st Mazarron FC 71 points 2nd Santa Ana 71 points 3rd A.D. Vistalegre Murcia 65 points 4th Mar Menor CF 65 points
Head to head records could become a factor if either Mazarron FC or Santa Ana have a melt down but I just can't see that happening.
It's very simple for our lads, win both your remaining games against 8th placed Roldan AD at home on Saturday and then against 16th placed and already relegated CD Minerva away the following week and your champions and promoted.
A point from either game would also guarantee a move to a higher division, but let's go up as top dog lads?

A little postscript to the 6-0 demolition of Santa Ana...
The Juveniles Twitter feed says Ishmael actually got FOUR of the goals with Antonio claiming the other two. But the FED report is still a mess!

FINAL SCORE
MAZARRON FC 1 ROLDAN AD 4
Mazarron had almost lost this game before a ball was kicked as the juvenile manager had set his side up in a way the usual five expat supporters had never seen all season. It was all wrong. Very strange indeed.
For some reason he had replaced our usual brilliant goalkeeper, Pablo, with a young man who was wearing Teflon gloves and had as much courage as the cowardly lion when it came to 50/50 balls.
Our normal solid defence had been messed about with and the replacements just didn't know their job which impacted on the usual reliable Eric and David who had to cover for the new guys and with an uncertain goal minder behind them this was a recipe for disaster and it duly arrived.
With both Steven and Stalin sat on the bench for some reason the attacking role fell to Andreo with Ismael and Domingo playing very deep. Surprisingly Mazarron took the lead direct from a Andreo free kick but that was as good as it got. 1-0
Roldan kept pressing and pressing and soon figured out that Mazarrons goal minder just wasn't up to the job and took every opportunity to test him. A feeble back pass from the nervous David allowed a visiting striker to nip in, Pablo would normally smother such chances but the ball was slipped into the net for the equaliser with the stand-in keeper flapping at fresh air.
Half time arrived with the score at 1-1 and in all honesty I think we would all settle for a point. We were expecting wholesale changes for the second half but no, Mazarron stuck to the starting 11.
The Mazarron lad, number 6, playing at the heart of the defence had no pace and no idea of how to stop the diagonal through ball being deployed by the visitors and after a few of these he was soon found out exposing Mr Nervous in the home goal and the ball nestled in the back of the net giving the home side down 1-2 but it got worse.
Eric, our defensive stalwart, was having to do his job and constantly keep digging his partner out of the smelly brown stuff. Again our number 6 was beaten by the diagonal ball from the right met by the onrushing forward with perfect timing and poor old Eric, trying to cover for two players (goalkeeper and central defender) had no choice but to try a last minute desperate tackle to prevent a goal but he was adjudged to have fouled the striker and as he was the last defender.....he received a straight red card. Then all pandemonium broke out. Linesmen were flagging, players and club officials were complaining, the crowd were incensed with what was going on. All this took ten minutes to sort out, remember that, ten minutes, we timed it. During this disturbance Jose, the Mazarron FC president was red carded for giving his advice to the match official who was having a 'mare' of a game.
The penalty was duly taken 1-3.
Shortly afterwards and following an innocent tackle out came the yellow card, which it should be noted was exclusively shown to Mazarron players during the game with no Roldan player being booked or even spoken to by the match official, the Mazarron players couldn't take much more of these bad decisions and words were spoke resulting in a second yellow = Red card.
Down to 9 men Mazarron had an impossible task ahead of them and even the belated introduction of Stalin and Steven could prevent a fourth goal slipped past the hapless goal keeper.
The ref blew up exactly on 90 minutes, the first time that I have known this in many, many years and the officials had to be assisted to their dressing room such was the anger shown by the home supporters.
Final score Mazarron FC 1 Roldan AD 4
A bad day at the office but don't blame the lads. The team was set up all wrong, the officials were a disgrace and the ref even got the sequence of goals scored wrong in his match report. He must come from NEWARK (it's an anagram, figure it out)
The only saving grace was Santa Ana only drew away today 2-2 at Mar Menor and although they go one point ahead of Mazarron at the top of the table there is still one game to play so there is still a chance for our boys, as long as the manager gets his team selection correct next time.
