FINAL SCORE
Mazarron FC 1 Totana 1 (wrong, see posting below)
How we didn't win this 4 or 5 - 1 I don't know.
Totana took the lead with a delightful chip over the onrushing Mazarron keeper but that was one of the only two shots they had all day. Talk about taking your chances.
Mazarron drew level from a well worked free kick routine before the home side were reduced to 10 players for the last 30 minute, a red card for..... goodness knows.
Even with just 10 men Mazarron took the game to Totana looking for the winner but had to settle for the draw.
How frustrating.

Don't believe it, I was at the game and it was a 1-1 draw, but if they want to give us two extra points who am I to moan? We deserved all three points. (Wrong, see posting below)

Whatever the result, with Santa Ana only drawing anyway, it makes for a great game next week.

OK, HANDS UP TIME RE YESTERDAYS JUVENILE GAME
As I previously said I was at the game but prior to kickoff I was helping out with the raffle. so arrived at my seat after kickoff.
I heard a cheer go up shortly after the game started as I was making my way to the stands. On arrival I asked the other two Englsh supporters present, who's name I won't mention as I don't want to embarrass them, if Mazarron had scored and they said NO.
So I watched and reported on the game from the stand point of it being 0-0 when I got to my seat, a wrong assumption as Mazarron were already leading 1-0
So the long and short of it is Mazarron FC won 2-1 and close the gap to just 1 point on next weeks top placed team.

NEXT GAME
EF Santa Ana vs Mazarron FC
7.30pm (19.30) Saturday 12th December.
A great game in the offing. Santa Ana are just one point ahead of our lads at the top of the table.
If anyone fancies an evening out, the Santa Ana Polideportivo Municipal is to the North of Cartagena. The best drive is via the Fuente Alamo motorway and down the Murcia/Cartagena motorway to junction 180. Then follow the signs. The ground is a completely new complex only opened last year. It is to the right just before the roundabout in the town. It's a 35-40 min drive.
The ground GPS is 37°39'15.3"N 1°00'38.6"W.

MAZARRON JUVENILES TURN ON THE STYLE
After last weeks 2-0 defeat away at the league leaders Mazarron juveniles had a point to prove to their coach and supporters and they certainly went about it in style against Alquerias.
As early as the 11 minute the ball was taken down the left wing where it was crossed to Andreo who controls it on his chest before slamming the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the afternoon.
1-0
In the 28 minute after good defensive work a through ball was played to Fran who shook off two challenges before doubling Mazarrons lead. 2-0
But almost instantly the visitors replied. As a Mazarron attack broke down a speculative wide ball on right found an unmarked Alquerias player who gave Mazarrons keeper no chance from close range. 2-1 and a goal against the run of play.
half time 2-1
Shortly after the restart and after a period of sustained pressure by the visitors the ball is cleared up field a spectacular shot from 30 yards deceives the keeper who could only tip it into his own net.
3-1
75 mins gone and its 4-1 when a cross from the left was met on the volley to leave the keeper stranded.
4-1
After constant pressure Alquerias buckled again, this time it was a cross from right which was missed by everyone except lone Mazarron player who hit his shot goal bound but it cleared off line by defender with his hand. Red card and off he goes and the penalty was taken by the excellent Steven .
5-1
Inter passing between Andreo and Steven found number 11 free at the edge of the box who deliberately chipped the keeper from 18 yards to make it
6-1
At the death and with the visitors run ragged Andreo ghosted into the box to convert a cross
7-1
The final whistle was blown and the game was somewhat spoiled by the visiting players deciding that if they couldn't beat Mazarron at football they would have a go at fighting. The Mazarron coach sensibly lead all of his players to the center circle until the visitors went down the tunnel.
Great game which Mazarron dominated from start to finish.
