NOT SO EASY THIS MANAGEMENT LARK IS IT GARY
GARY NEVILLE could face the ultimate insult from Valencia — as the Spanish club line up former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez as his replacement.
Manchester United legend Neville is clinging onto his job at the Mestalla after he watched his side humiliated 7-0 by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final.

Never mind about next week's Barcelona return game, Sunday in Seville against Real Betis could be his undoing. The fans are revolting..........................

Last November, Valencia’s coach, Nuno Espírito Santo, resigned after a 1-0 defeat in Seville left them ninth in La Liga.
Will Neville go after today's 1-0 defeat at Betis in Seville leaves them 13th in La Liga???

And after beating Vienna 10-0 on aggregate, it looks a cert now.

Or maybe not!
A bit like Brentford losing to neighbours QPR (!), Mr Neville has just presided over a local derby loss to bottom-of-the-table Levante 1-0.

I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING
Former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville has been sacked by Valencia after less than four months in charge of the Spanish club.
The 41-year-old, who is part of the England coaching set-up, was given his first managerial job in December

BARCELONA MANAGER TO QUIT
Barcelona boss Luis Enrique will step down at the end of the season, saying he needs to "rest".
The 46-year-old, in his third season in charge of Barca, was speaking after their 6-1 win over Sporting Gijon.
He won the Champions League as part of the treble in his first year and led them to a domestic double last season.
But they are on the verge of elimination from the Champions League after losing 4-0 to Paris St-Germain in the last-16 first leg.

Another name to resurface is Pepe Mel. He of the disastrous few weeks at West Brom.
After that, he had a great success at Real Betis getting them promoted back into La Liga.
But he couldn't continue the magic, and was sacked just over a year ago after a poor start to last season.
He is now back in La Liga managing Deportivo La Coruña and has a baptism of fire tonight against Atlético.
EDIT: Final score 1-1.
Fernando Torres taken to hospital after being unconscious for 'several minutes' following a bad collision.
EDIT2 (Friday): Torres out of hospital this morning with no serious injuries.

Sñr. Mel is having a great effect at Deportivo!
After picking up a point in his first game against Atlético, he's managed 3 points at Gijón, a point against Real Betis and the scalp of Luis Enrique today with a great 2-1 win over Barcelona.
That's pulled them 8 points clear of the drop zone. And he's only been there 10 days!
That was Barca's first league defeat since the beginning of October.
EDIT 9th October...
The honeymoon period is over! Since the Barcelona game, Deportivo have gone through 3 defeats and a nil-nil draw!

WHO SAW THIS ONE COMING?
Former England and Arsenal captain Tony Adams has been appointed head coach of Granada until the end of the season.
Adams replaces Lucas Alcaraz, who was sacked on Monday after a 3-1 home defeat by Valencia that leaves them 19th in La Liga.
The 50-year-old had already been working at the Spanish club and is vice president of the company owned by Granada's club president.
His first game will be at home to Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Work this one out!!!
Lorca Deportiva are steaming away at the top of the Tercera and guaranteed a play-off spot.
So what do they do?
Dispense with the services of their 'mister', Sergio Sanchez Perez, and bring in a gentleman named José Emilio Riquelme "Galiana".
Reportedly, he's trained (amongst others) Lorca Atlético (you may remember they disappeared after failing to pay their players), Eldense (who've just been caught out fixing a game!) and in Uruguay (!).

The Tony Adams experiment at Granada has not gone so well.
The Spanish side have lost 2-1 at Real Sociedad and are relegated.

And it gets worse.............
Beaten 2-1 by the previously bottom club Osasuna, means Granada are now propping the table up.
