Half-time and it's Almeria 0-0 Espanyol. Too late to watch the rest!
Tomorrow, Elche go to Barcelona - as they say, there are no easy games at this level!
The other interesting game will be new boys Córdoba (got in via the pay-offs) visiting Real Madrid. They've certainly given the minnows a tough start this year. But it will be a chance for Ancelotti to get his year started!
EDIT:......
Final in Almeria 1-1. Second half went on even longer....floodlight failure!
Well, that was easy - for Barca! Barca 3-0 Elche. 2 for Messi. And only 10 men through the second half - Mascherano getting a straight red.
And Córdoba duly put to the sword....2-0 to Real.

Three away points for Almeria in San Sebastian despite TWO red cards, one for coach Francisco. But zero for Elche from their home game against Eibar.
Elche drop to 13th, Almeria climb to 10th.

Elche could only draw at home against Cordoba today and stay in the bottom three. Almeria play on Monday.
EDIT:
Almeria pick up a point at near neighbours Granada. But it's tough at the bottom with only 7 points covering the whole of the bottom half of La Liga!

And next up for Elche? Why if it isn't the 'chosen one' David Moyes and his Real Sociedad side.

And next up for Elche? Why if it isn't the 'chosen one' David Moyes and his Real Sociedad side. And I'm afraid the chosen one's side put our neighbours to the sword! 3-0 to Real Sociedad. Almeria host Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.

And it wasn't good news for Almeria. They went down by a single goal.
So both our neighbours are facing relegation I'm afraid.

Next up for Real Madrid is a trip to lowly Almeria, where anything other than an away win would be a major upset.
Almeria have taken just two points from their last eight league games to drop into the bottom four.
On Tuesday they parted company with coach Francisco Javier Rodriguez and placed B team coach Miguel Rivera in caretaker charge.
