He might be stepping up to the top job sooner than he thinks!
A bad start to the year for Ancelotti. No wins in the US and now they are beaten by those awful noisy neighbours down the road.
Atléti 1-0 Real
So Atléti win the Super Cup 2-1 on aggregate.
And what a noise there was in the Vicente Calderon. Definitely my ambition to see a game there one day.

It gives me tremendous pleasure, no even more than that as a Barca fan!
Unfortunately all of the folks in the bakers except for Mrs Bunn the baker's wife who supports Athletic are all Real Madrid fans so I might get banned this year. (Came pretty close to it last year)
Let's hope they continue with this form in the league as well

The noisy neighbours win again!
Real 1-2 Atléti
And it took a diving Ronaldo to score the one Real goal from the spot.
Things get no better for Mr Ancelotti.

Since that defeat to Atléti in September, their 2-1 win in Malaga yesterday means that Real Madrid have put together a run of 16 consecutive wins in all competitions! A new club record.
Ancelotti's side have won 10 La Liga matches, five in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey.

Real's trouncing of Almeria at the weekend made it 20 in a row and tonight it went to TWENTY ONE!
Cruz Azul (of Mexico) 0-4 Real Madrid
Semi-final of the World Club Cup in Morocco.
It's still raining south of Gib. and the game had to be moved from Rabat to Marrakech.
Looks like this competition is the reason Real's Copa games were played earlier in the season.
EDIT: Final on Saturday will be against San Lorenzo of Argentina.

Real are not what they used to be!
26 mins gone and Aduriz makes it 1-0 for Athletic Bilbao.
At 34 y/o he's in his third spell at Bilbao and is still scoring at nearly a goal every other game!
The fact they play in Brentford's colours must be a help!
Half time. 1-0
Final score 1-0!
A win for Barca tomorrow lunchtime against Rayo Vallecano will send them top!

And Barcelona win at home 5-1. Tight at the top now.
Pity Bale's 40 yard screamer didn't go in as it would have been the goal of the year.
