NEXT GAME
MAZARRON F.B v A.C.R. E.F. AGUILAS
SATURDAY 29th/SUNDAY 30th march 2014
6 GAMES TO GOThe next time the cadetes are programmed to appear will be in a home game against 6th placed A.C.R E.F. Aguilas.
The last time these two sides met was on the 1st December 2013 when the final score was Aguilas 0 Mazarron FC 5. So on current form and past history that should be 3 points for the boys in red, but let's not count our chickens before they hatch especially after last weekends game when Aguilas beat Lorca 'A' 3-1 at home.

MATCH DETAILS
Mazarron FB cadetes v Aguilas Cadetes
Kickoff 5pm (17.00) Saturday 29th March The game to be played on the plastic pitches on the way to the port Mazarron FB cadetes 1 v Aguilas Cadetes 1
Talk about a game of two halves, It was all Aguilas in the first half playing the long ball game with a gail at their back and had 5 clear cut chances with the Mazarron FB keeper pulling off a number of good saves including a double point blank save. But it was Mazarron who took the lead following a excellent shot by Fran was cleared for a corner. A pinpoint cross found a Mazarron FB player, ISMAIL BELAIDI, who forced the ball over the line. HALF TIME 1-0 The boot was on the other foot in the second half and with the introduction of Domingo and Christian, who for some strange reason had been left on the bench for the whole of the first half, we all expected the flood gates to open. And it was shot after shot by Mazarron FB raining down on the Aguilas goal but the guy they had between the sticks had an inspired afternoon as everything Mazarron threw at him he stopped. The long ball game came into play for the Aguilas equaliser when a a Mazarron FB defender missed one of these missiles and the keeper came to the home teams rescue clearing out for a corner. When the ball was slung over everything was under control until an Aguilas forward stuck out a foot and the ball was defected into the Mazarron net. No matter what Mazarron FB tried they couldn't conjure up the winner and 2 points flew out of the window, what a shame especially after second placed Atlco. Pulpileno LOST away. So in fact the the gap between the top two team INCREASES in the favour of Mazarron FB to 5 points and with only 5 games to be played time is running out for the chasing pack. Final score Mazarron FB cadetes 1 v Aguilas Cadetes 1UPDATED CURRENT STATS WITH 5 GAMES TO GO (30/3/14):
1 - MAZARRON F.B P 21 W 18 D 3 L 0 GF 107 GA 12 Points 57 2 - ATLCO PULPILEÑO P 21 W 16 D 4 L 1 GF 79 GA 21 Points 52 3 - C.D. LUMBRERAS P 21 W 16 D 3 L 2 GF 65 GA 14 Points 51
*CD Lumbreras won 2-5 away yesterday and sit just behind the top two.

NEXT GAME
6pm (18.00) THURSDAY 3rd APRIL 2014 CD BALA AZUL v MAZARRÓN FB
Even though, on paper, this is an away fixture in all honesty it will be the same as a home game with both teams playing the majority of their games on the astro turf pitches in the port of Mazarron. The last time that these two sides met was in early December 2013 when Mazarron FB ran out 3-0 winners, (and a match report is on page 1 of this thread) but Bala Azul remain a dangerous opposition as they sit in 4th place in the league although some 16 points behind Mazarron FB. Last weekend Bala Azul beat 9th placed Lorca C.F.B. "B" 3-1 at home so are no 'push over'. I'll put the stats for the top 4 teams so that you can see how close it is in the run up to the end of the season. CURRENT STATS: 1 - MAZARRON F.B P 21 W 18 D 3 L 0 GF 107 GA 12 Points 57 2 - ATLCO PULPILEÑO P 21 W 16 D 4 L 1 GF 79 GA 21 Points 52 3 - C.D. Bala Azul cadetes v Mazarron FB cadetes You could tell from the very first kick of this game that Mazarron FB were going to control the ebb and flow of the match and there would never be any doubt as to the outcome of this local derby. You have to admire the way that these youngsters stoke the ball about, often linking 6, 7, 8 passes together, probing, teasing the opposition into making mistakes and then capitalising on them. And again tonight this was the game plan and again it worked to a tee. The only amazing thing was that at half time Mazarron FB went in only one goal up, a team affair in which Domingo took on and beat four defenders then slipped the ball through to Gines who finished the move off. But the questions would be asked by the coach in the dressing room as to how three completely open goals were missed which would have put this game to bed by the half way mark. HALF TIME BALA AZUL 0 MAZARRON FB 1Mazarron carried on in the second half but just upped their game a bit and this left Bala Azul in their wake. Goals from Pablo. Ortiz and Ismail saw Mazarron put this game to bed and left Bala Azul in disarray but it could have been even better if an absolute screamer from Christian on the full volley wasn't palmed over by the Bala keeper. You might have seen that the Mazarron FB goal keeper isn't mentioned, why? because he had nothing to do throughout the game as opposed to the large guy in the opposite net who pulled off a number of good saves to keep the score at a reasonable level Final score
BALA AZUL cadetes 0 MAZARRON FB cadetes 4Mazarron FB goals ANTONIO ORTIZ NAVARRO, DOMINGO CABRERA ACOSTA, GINES NAVARRO LOPEZ, ISMAIL BELAIDI. Domingo now has 25 goals recorded against his name by the Federation and is bye far and away the leagues leading striker. Mazarron FB are now 8 points clear at the top of the league with 4 games to play.

HOW THE REST OF THE SEASON WILL PAN OUT With four games to go Mazarron FB cadetes stand proudly at the top of the table clear 6 points clear of 2nd placed Lumbreras and lead third placed Pulpieno by 8 clear points with no one having any games in hand and Mazarron FB still remain undefeated. So I thought it might interest for you to see who we have yet to play and how they are doing. Now I don't want to put the 'mockers' on it but of the four it's the next team up is the one we have to beat and, if we do, the remaining three should, should be OK. So here are the four teams that the lads have to face. First up, and here's the crunch, is that third placed team Atletico Pulpileno at home. The date of this game, which should have been played on the 12/13th April, has yet to be finalised but could well be a championship decider. Mazarron FB played Pulpileno in December and it was a hard fought 2-2 draw and that result, if repeated, whilst suiting Mazarron it would in reality end Pulpileno challenge for the top spot. We then move onto 8th placed PEÑA MADRIDISTA CIUDAD DEL SOL. This is an away game scheduled for 4th May. In theory this should be an OK tie for Mazarron FB as in the earlier meeting this season we ran out with a comfortable 9-0 for Mazarron FB Next up is Estrella Roja CF again away, so that's two away games on the bounce, and again I feel quite confident with this game against the current bottom team who have only won one game all season and after we had a lucky 15-0 win at our place. This game is scheduled for 11th May. Then finally we face near rivals EF Totana who are, at this moment in time, third from bottom with only four wins and 16 points to their name. We visited Totana in January and on their ground we came away with a 0-4 win and this time we will have home advantage with, I'm sure, a full stadium to cheer them on. This is a 'must not miss game' and is scheduled to take place on 18th May, so get that into your diary. I've listed all the current stats from teams above for your information. CURRENT STATS:1st MAZARRON F.B P 22 W 19 D 3 L 0 GF 111 GA 12 Points 60 3rd ATLCO PULPILEÑO P 22 W 16 D 4 L 2 GF 82 GA 25 Points 52 8th PEÑA MADRIDISTA CIUDAD DEL SOL P 22 W 8 D 5 L 9 GF 43 GA 59 Points 29 12th E.F. NEXT GAME
MAZARRON FB v ATLCO PULPILEÑO
6pm (18.00) SATURDAY 26th APRIL 2014
4 games to go
This crucial, crucial game and has been put back two weeks from this weekend and with just four games to go Mazarron FB cadetes stand proudly at the top of the table clear and lead third placed Pulpieno by 8 clear points with no one having any games in hand and Mazarron FB still remain undefeated. Have no doubts that this is the end of season crunch game, in the four remaining games. A result against third placed team Atletico Pulpileno is crucial and it will be played at home. The date of this game, which should have been played on the 12/13th April, has been put back a couple of weeks and could well be a championship decider. Mazarron FB played Pulpileno in December and it was a hard fought 2-2 draw and that result, if repeated, whilst suiting Mazarron it would in reality end Pulpileno challenge for the top spot. CURRENT STATS:1st MAZARRON F.B P 22 W 19 D 3 L 0 GF 111 GA 12 Points 60 3rd ATLCO PULPILEÑO P 22 W 16 D 4 L 2 GF 82 GA 25 Points 52 EDIT12th April 2014 Early kick off saw second placed Lumbreras close the gap on Mazarron FB to 3 points but we now have a game in hand. The head to head record against Lumbreras is first game drawn with Mazarron FB winning the second game. So on head to head it's advantage Mazarron FB.

FINAL SCORE
MAZARRON FB 3 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 1 Let's put everything into prospective, the result of this game was the over riding point and the performance/style would have to come second, but fortunately we got a bit of both tonight when Mazarron FB cadetes cemented their place at the top of the league. They are now 6 points clear with 3 games to go. The game started with the excellent Atletico Pulpileno side controlling the encounter for the first third of the match and it was their impressive striker who gave the visitors the lead when a poor defensive back pass was intercepted and he finished the job with a shot just inside the left hand post which Pablo, in the Mazarron goal, thought he had covered but in the end beat our first class stopper. MAZARRON FB 0 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 1 And the game continued in the same vein, with Pulpileno forcing the pace and Mazarron defending in depth and relying on counter attacking. But it was from one of these Mazarron attacks that the home side drew level. The ball was quickly taken forward but intercepted by the Pulpileno defenders putting the ball out for a corner. From that corner the ball was put into his own net by the towering defending number 18 of the visiting side. A great goal, wrong net, sorry. MAZARRON FB 1 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 1 This is the point that their heads went down in the Pulpileno team and they never seem to recover from this own goal although they made Mazarron work all the way for their win. The second goal for Mazarron came from a similar route as the first, counter attack by Mazarron, cut out for a corner by the visitors defence, excellent corner to the far post but this time it was Gines, little Gines who rose above everyone else to nod the ball home. MAZARRON FB 2 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 1 & HALF TIME The second half belonged to Mazarron but with good defending by Pulpileno and some poor finishing by the home teams front line it kept the score the same until a piece of individual brilliance and unselfish play finished the scoring for the day. From a Pulpileno attack which was broken down by the Mazarron defence the ball was quickly moved forward through the mid field eventually finishing at the feet of Domingo who was being shadowed by the usual 2 defenders, he twisted, turned and broke free with the ball, a third defender then pushed him wide of the goal mouth to the left and we all thought that Domingo had over complicated the move and it was going nowhere until....... he slipped the ball through to the waiting Gines all on his own and he could do nothing else but bury the ball into the back of the net. MAZARRON FB 3 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 1 And that was it really, Mazarron shut up shop with the 2 goal cushion and saw the rest of the game out comfortably. A good working mans performance and barring an unsuspected disaster a result which should see Mazarron crowned champions this season.

The following is a translation of a message Steve has received from el Presidente José:
"I feel the time is right to communicate, but I have good news.
The CADETES and JUVENILES have managed the promotion of category to 1st. irrespective of playing matches next weekend.
Next weekend at the match Mazarrón fc Juveniles-Javali Nuevo will celebrate the promotions in Municipal stadium since have not yet begun works of artificial turf.
On Monday I will inform you the date and time of the game."
The results of other teams this weekend brought this about. For the Cadetes, their closest rivals Lumbreras, surprisingly lost 0-1 at home to Águilas whilst the Cadetes thumped Peña Madridista 7-0, leaving Mazarrón 9 points ahead with only two games to play.
While the Juveniles had a week off, next week's visitors Javali-Nuevo confirmed the top spot by winning 9-0. With only the head-to-head game next week remaining, they are now 7 points ahead so can't be caught. But, the third placed team Águilas lost at home to Sangonera and are now 5 points behind Mazarrón so cannot catch up. I assume José is saying TWO teams from our group will get promoted.
