MAZARRON F.B v LORCA C.F.B. "B"
Saturday 23rd November 2013 This game was played on the plastic pitches in the port in temperatures of 18 centigrade under a clear blue sky but with a vicious Northerly cross wind blowing straight across the pitch. Mazarron FB played the conditions perfectly by keeping the ball on the ground and playing the ball to feet with accurate passing from the start. Mazarron started the game like an express train dominating possession and during the entire first half the home keeper didn't have one save to make. In Domingo and Fran Mazarron FB have a devastating strike force with the lads showing maturity far beyond their years and they literally ripped the Lorca defence apart time and time again. The first goal came from an excellent move on the right wing, finding a Mazarron FB striker in acres of space from where he buried the ball into the back of the net. MAZARRON F.B 1 v LORCA C.F.B. "B" 0 It wasn't but a few minutes later that Mazarrons second was scored, this time the play came from the left with the ball played to the winger feet, he turned beating two defenders and sent over a pin point cross which was finished off by the waiting Mazarron forward leaving the goal keeper like a beached whale MAZARRON F.B 2 v LORCA C.F.B. "B" 0 The rest of the first half was played out with Lorca riding their luck and keeping the score at MAZARRON F.B 2 v LORCA C.F.B. "B" 0 The second half was only a few minutes old when it was decided that the Mazarron FB strike force would be withdrawn and two other lads were given a chance to shine so Domingo and Fran trooped off for a well deserved rest. But for the spectators the chance meant the game stagnated somewhat. Yes Mazarron had all the possession and all the chances but didn't have that cutting edge any more. It was during this time that Lorca had their one and only shot on goal. Their excellent lone striker intercepted a wayward back pass and beat the Mazarron keeper only to see the ball come back off the post and to safety. The only other thing of note prior to the final whistle was the sending to the stand of the Mazarron trainer for arguing with the ref following a foul on one of his players. It must be said at this point that at times you forgot that there was a ref on the pitch as he controlled the game so well without the assistance of linesmen. A word here, taking a player to one side there were the tactics he employed and he was excellent throughout. The game to an end with Mazarron FB maintaining that all important clean sheet and with a final score of MAZARRON F.B 2 v LORCA C.F.B. "B" 0 How this will effect the table will be revealed at the end of the weekends games with Mazarron FB just off the top spot.

Bit of confusion here.
Jose is saying that this weekends game is on the plastic pitches but the federation have published that the game is to be played at our home ground.
I've emailed Jose to confirm one way or the other. Watch this space.

Things couldn't be tighter at the top of the Cadete league following Fridays results.
A.C.R. E.F. AGUILAS 3 v ATLCO PULPILEÑO 3 LORCA C.F.B. "A" 2 v ESTRELLA ROJA C.F. 0 E.F. ALHAMA "A" 0 v C.D. LUMBRERAS 4 So top side Pulpileno drop 2 points with a 3-3 draw. But Lorca "A" win 2-0 at home while Lumbreras score 4 in a 0-4 away win. This all means the local D€rby between Mazarron FC (3rd) v Bala Azul (4th) take on more importance as a win will take Mazarron FC back to the top.
Current stats
1 - ATLCO PULPILEÑO P9 W8 D1 L0 GF39 GA10 Points 25 2 - C.D. LUMBRERAS P9 W7 D2 L0 GF32 GA4 Points 23 3 - MAZARRON F.B P8 W7 D1 L0 GF45 GA4 Points 22 4 - C.D. BALA AZUL P8 W5 D1 L2 GF26 GA12 Points 16 5 - LORCA C.F.B. "A" P9 W5 D1 L3 GF18 GA15 Points16

LOCAL RIVALS PUT TO THE SWORD WHILST MAZARRON FB CADETE GO TOP. Final score
Mazarron FB 3 Bala Azul 0 (and it could have been many, many more)What a fine Cadete team Mazarron FC have, from an assured goal keeper all the way through to a prolific strike partnership, the team oozes confidence and skill way beyond their years. Having said that the first 10 minutes of the game were scrappy with neither side put their foot on the ball and took control but slowly but surely Mazarron FC started to show their superior skills and the chance kept on coming. But each and every chance went begging and the 6 English supporters who were there to cheer on the lads counted 7 clear cut chance that were scorned by the home team including one off the bar. So it was with some surprise that the sides went into the break level. I will come onto the official later. Half time Mazarron FB 0 Bala Azul 0It took Mazarron FB just 4 minutes after the break to start the score board ticking over. Domingo, who had played and scored for the juvenile team the night before, collected the ball on the halfway line and burst through the static Bala defence and as he entered the box and teed up his shot his shirt was almost ripped of his back pulling him down, but apparently this wasn't seen as a foul by the lone official but Domingo had the intelligence to poke the ball through to a Mazarron player but the ball was cleared for a corner by the defence. But justice was done as the corner, delivered to the far post was dispatched by Fran.Mazarron FB 1 Bala Azul 0Bala Heads went down and it wasn't long before Mazarron had doubled their lead. The move originated from the excellent Mazarron left back who, Stuart Pearce like, played a one two with a mid fielder and pinged the ball into the box and following a bit of ball juggling it came to Gines who crashed it home. Mazarron FB 2 Bala Azul 0Mazarron made the game safe with a clever goal from Ivan after beating two defenders and leaving the Bala keeper stranded on his line. Mazarron FB 3 Bala Azul 0In the cool of the December night Mazarron ensured that they kept a clean sheet and with ATLCO PULPILEÑO drawing 3-3 elsewhere the final whistle was greeted in the knowledge that not only had the local rival had been thoroughly thrashed but Mazarron FB cadetes return to their rightful place at the top of the league. Final score Mazarron FC 3 Bala Azul 0I'm sorry but I now have to turn to the lone official and being on his own it's not an easy job, but in a game where there wasn't one dirty foul, nobody received any treatment what so ever, 6 Mazarron FB players were booked and the teams trainer was sent from the dugout?? Bala Azul also got their share of cards as well. He booked the Mazarron keeper for wasting time (a few seconds) then took 2 minutes recording the offence!! I had said to Chris Phillips at the start of the game how I really reckoned on the standard of the officials we have at the junior level, but this guy........ What a pity, he almost spoiled what was a brilliant game of football played in the right spirit.

What a great cadet team we have, it was a pleasure to be there tonight to witness the individual skill level of theses lads which is of a very high standard and the passing game they played was very effective. The Bala Azul team just couldn't live with the slick passing of our lads, and as Steve say's it could have been an even bigger score.
